Viking Sea 4123 Deluxe balcony suite

Anyone thinking of paying extra for this cabin and its sister one (4122) beware. especially if you are sailing in areas where you may get rain.  There is a flaw in the design of the balcony deck, instead of sloping to the gulley and drain it slopes back towards the cabin sliding doors.  This means that if it rains you have to paddle through water or call housekeeping regularly to get rid of it.  We were in the Caribbean  and had a couple of rainy days, luckily it was hot so it was not too big a problem as we could paddle to our chairs - we did complain to guest services though!.  If you are in northern hemispheres then it could result in you being unable to use your balcony unless you have waterproof shoes!!  It is a shame, as it is a beautiful ship with fantastic staff and food and the cabin itself is well fitted out.
