Ben & Jerry room - Liberty of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Question to anyone that has been in the Sweet room?

Has anyone been told you would have all the privileges of being in a Suite room to include a GOLD card?

We have been in this room 6 times over the last 3 years and were told we had all the Privileges of the Suite room and have 6 gold cards to show for it.  Well in the room this year NOW, and told we get only ice cream and access to the suite lounge room (we are D+, so NOT a biggy for us) .  They asked for proof we have been offered any other benefit before but not even sure if we saved anything back at home.  I remember when we booked being told access to Giovanni for breakfast and lunch, which required a GOLD Card.  But no PROOF we were told this?

So has anyone saved paperwork that showed any other benefits of the room?

All I can recall is the one ice cream per person per day and access to the Concierge or Suite lounge.

Unfortunately suites no longer get lunch in Giovannis on Liberty. They let you bring in food from the WJ into Chops for lunch but no more specialty lunches offered.

What’s the Ben and Jerry’s room?

A promenade cabin above the ice  cream shop on Freedom ships. It has an obscured view due to the cows above the shop. I think it is cabin 6305.

They decorate it in a cow motif, give you free ice cream and Concierge Lounge access. It may now include Suite Lounge access, i haven't stayed in one in over 5 years

Ah ok.  Thank you.

I saw your room on the other thread.  Looks like panoramic suite.  I’ll be in 1804 in May.

They call it the Ben & Jerry Suite/Sweet (clever, eh?) because The Cow Butt Room didn't have the same "ring" to it.  😉

The view is blocked by the cow butts of the B&J sign.

Is this still current since Indy went to an SL?

We have been in this room 6 times the past two years and always got a GOLD card.  now they claim has only ever been free ice cream and access to the lounge?

We had the room on Independence last year.  I wrote a review about it.  We didn't take advantage of everything, but pretty sure we got most privileges including breakfast in Chops. The one thing we didn't get were the reserved seats (but wasn't a big deal).

On Freedom, we did not get an actual gold card,  just a seperate card for the lounge door. Rafael, the concierge,  repeatedly told me we weren't real suite guests.

This was probably 5 years ago

if you did get a gold card for the B&J room then reserved seating has to be included. All you have to do is show the card for access

we have the B & J Suite on Liberty Feb 2019 and had 2 cards. A regular blue one and the concierge had left us extra gold cards for access to the Suite Lounge, it had no charging ability so we had to carry 2 cards. I was checking our balance on Day 3 at Guest Services and the clerk looked at my blue card and said "you're supposed to have a gold card". So he printed new gold Seapass cards for us. Now we had 3 sets. The gold cards Guest Services gave us were for room access and charging and the gold card from the concierge was only for access to the Suite Lounge. Our welcome letter for the Suite states we only get the daily scoop of ice cream (per person) and access to the Suite Lounge. You only have to flash your gold card to get access to the reserved seating area in the theater. I also used it to use the reserved deck loungers by the pool (nobody checks anyway). No breakfast in Chops/Giovanni's, no Suite cocktail party, and no priority debarkation to the dedicated Suite/Pinnacle line at customs/immigration.

Well if you had a GOLD card like we did then should have been able to use Giovanni's for breakfast and lunch.  All we did was show the Gold card one time when going in to eat then never carded again.  Our gold card got us into the Suite

Lounge in 2017.  Last December (2018) used our Gold card for Suite lounge and a 2nd key issued for Diamond Lounge

and as you note, your experience is at least 1 year old. I was there this year, and this year, is what we experienced as noted in my prior post. I suppose I could have tried breakfast in Chops, but the gold card from the concierge had no printing on it, just our names, at a quick glance the host would know we weren't in a suite. I didn't want to chance being denied and thus embarass myself and DH. Even after GS printed us gold cards, I didn't try as the letter clearly stated my 2 benefits, ice cream and suite access

Did the Gold card have your name on it?  We had regular Gold card issued, then the extra key for the Diamond lounge,  our Gold card only opened the Suite lounge.  All six trips in this room we were told we are treated like a Suite Room

With a GOLD card we had access to Breakfast and Lunch in Giovanni's.  We were told this is a Suite / Pinnacle privilege

Sorry, just saw this while I was making the other post.  You answered my question about what was on the key.  Dec 2018 for 3 weeks our regular room key was gold with our name on it.  The Extra Key was only for Diamond Lounge.

So we had breakfast and Lunch in Giovanni's

As suites we had breakfast in Chops and "private seating available" in chops for lunch. They definitely spell it out differntly for lunch. Now we always have the ultimate dinning when we sail liberty so we had lunch in sabor or giovanni's
