What is your biggest expenditure while on a cruise ship?

One thing I failed to recognize is that a couple of fancy cups of joe in the morning might be $25 for two folks.

Just to clarify you are talking over a couple of days right? I can't imagine anyone crazy enough to $12.50 for any cup of coffee 😳

Well, I was actually thinking two cups in the morning for 2 people, so four cups total.   Assumed a cost of $5 or $6 per cuppa but that might be wrong.  I down three cups of regular coffee routinely in the morning.  But now that I think about it that might be too much fancy coffee --  I guess it all depends on how jittery we want to be!

To be fair I find the fancier the coffee the less coffee they actually put into it 😂 so you could probably have a few more cups, unless you are going for those ridiculously slow dripped cold brews. Just give me a plain long black thanks 😜

My husband and I splurged at our local coffee shop this weekend since we had a buy one get one free special and a large frappe was $6 with tax, so your costs sound about right.

Jewelry. In all fairness, huge problem with our cabin that could not fixed after several days somewhere else.  Refund of part of our cruise that became an amazing jewelry purchase.  Wife totally deserved it!

I usually don't spend much on board. I only book cruises with included perks, or that are especially good deals, then pay for whatever we'll want in advance. I like to have a drink plan, pre-paid gratuities, and I book any shore excursions direct paying in advance so I don't have to worry about any big bills on vacation. I just want to sit back and enjoy the ride. 😊

If I am losing then the Casino😏.  If I am winning then gratuities😎.  Drinks and souvenirs would be somewhere in the middle.

You buy souvenirs while ON the ship? Like what that would be expensive?

I've bought a few $10 or less items on various cruises, so not expensive.  If everything else was already paid for though, $30 could be the biggest expense (or at least in the middle like for Warm Breezes).

I don't think the question meant cash out-lay on the ship, but for the cruise? I said Drinks, HSC, wifi -- but all are pre-paid for my next cruise.

And I thought it meant on the ship itself.

Who said they were expensive?  I just said they were in the middle.  For me the middle is somewhere between $0 and losing $200 max in the casino (if we was losing, for both of us) or roughly $200 in gratuities (for 2).  We rarely purchase more than 5-6 drinks between the 2 of us on a 7 day cruise and if I get souvenirs it is usually a piece of jewelry or some T-shirts.  Sometimes not even that and rarely more than $100 between the 2.  We are not big spenders on the ship.  Especially now that the kids are grown and we are sailing more often on our own.  I prefer sticking the money into better balcony rooms now.  The Afts are quickly becoming our rooms of choice when we want to spend more on a cruise.

Gratuities.

Going to do an ultimate restaurant package later this year for the first time, so that one will be more.  We don't usually book the ship's excursions.  Have done spa treatments (mostly massages), but they're hit and miss.  Half have been excellent and the other half, bad enough that had I been home I would have asked for a refund.

On the ship itself would be laundry and/or tee-shirts (because the tee-shirts were cheaper than laundering my own!).

Everything else (for the next two cruises anyway, and two Princess cruises beyond that) is pre-paid or covered by promotionals.
