ms Nieuw Statendam and Volendam in Port Everglades Sunday, January 5, 2020

Recommended Posts

*** NOTE***  I am posting this on Friday night and by Sunday some of the times and even piers may change.

It is another full house in Port Everglades with eight cruise ships.

Nieuw Statendam will be at pier 26 (starboard to) from 0530-1700.  She will be heading out on a 7-day Tropical Caribbean cruise.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (06 Jan 0800-1700); Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos (08 Jan 0800-1700); Amber Cove, Dominican Republic (09 Jan 0800-1700); Key West, Florida (11 Jan 0800-1700); Fort Lauderdale, Florida (12 Jan a0700)

Volendam will be at pier 4 (unusual) from 0430-1600.  Volendam is taking over for Prinsendam for the 77-day Grand South America and Antarctica cruise.  I would be surprised if she leaves at 1600 (the 2019 one did not leave until after 1900).

2 ships leaving on extended itineraries - the day after Amsterdam leaves on her world cruise. Is early January a popular date for world/extended itineraries?

Anyway, I plan to be here for Sunday's full house.

We're on the Volendam and the Captain told us we would be averaging 19knots to be the first ship in port on 5 January.  Unfortunately we are getting off after 46 wonderful days to the Amazon and beyond.

And I'll be coming on, just off the Amsterdam, no more Stella and no more Grolsch...

A great selection of ships in Saturday's sailaway. Only 2 today - but I have been on neither one - but I have been on all of their sisters.

Looking forward to the sailaway Sunday.

Just about to head to breakfast, then take a private shuttle over to the Nieuw Statendam.  For sailaway, we'll be with our friends on our aft balcony on Deck 5, and will have the Canadian flag attached to the railing.  Oh, and we'll be waving like crazy!  LOL

Smooth Sailing! :classic_smile::classic_smile::classic_smile:

Looks like someone is looking to apply for any World Voyage openings. Good luck, Father.
