Age Restrictions in Haven Area

Recommended Posts

I am looking to book a cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway with my husband and 6 month old (who will be 10 months old when we cruise). I was looking to book a Haven Courtyard room but read online that children are not permitted on the Haven sundeck. Is that correct? Are there other areas in the Haven that children are not permitted? What about the courtyard area? I want to make sure we’ll have access to most of the areas before I spend the money booking a Haven room. Thanks!

Everywhere but ....

the haven sundeck

the haven hot tubs (or any hot tubs anywhere on the ship)

the haven pool (or any pool anywhere on the ship)

Only the Haven sundeck is 16 and older.

Children can go into the other parts of the Haven including the courtyard, lounge, and hot-tub(s) which aren't located on the sundeck.

Babies in diapers cannot use any pool or hot tub on the ship, due to the potential for fecal matter to leak.  They can use the splash area in a swim diaper, but that is outside the haven.

The baby is welcome everywhere in the haven aside from the pools and sun deck.

My understanding is that swim diapers aren't allowed in any area of the Kid’s Aqua Park which includes the splash area for the same reason you mentioned for the pools and jacuzzis etc..... a "fecal leak" is a fecal leak no matter where it's located.

Regardless of the poop issues very young babies should never be in a hot tub.  It's unhealthy for them.

Babies/kids are allowed in the courtyard, restaurant, and lounge, but not on the sundeck. Diapered babies and kids are not allowed in water features. I’ve heard of parents bringing those little inflatable bathtubs for their little ones to splash in on their balconies.

The same is true for elderly guests (Epic, Nov. 2017).
