Adding passenger to solo reservation

Recommended Posts

My TA is closed until monday, so i was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this.  I have a cabin booked on Harmony coming up in about 3 weeks.  I've booked a balcony as a solo.  So i've already paid double fare.  But i have a friend that may be interested in joining me.  Any one have experience with adding someone last minute? did it change your perks, or charge a fee?  I told her i would take her for free since i've already paid. i don't want to get her hopes up if its not possible.  Thanks for any information!

In addition to the port fees and taxes,  there has to be space available in the lifeboat.

Unless the policies have changed, they always make sure there will be room in the lifeboats for the first two guests in a stateroom.  That's why they put limits on adding 3/4 guests even though there may be empty staterooms in that muster station.

I tried this a few years ago. My husband’s work schedule changed so he could join me after final payment was made for me as a solo. RCI wanted about $500 to add him to the cabin. I was shocked thinking that I already had paid double as a solo but RCI was repricing at current rate plus his port fees which were about $100. The result: It was a 5 night cruise and he didn’t go.

So they won’t reprice the cabin? I’m asking because I also booked a balcony cabin as a solo on Allures west bound TA in November — but now considering adding a companion.

They are not supposed to.  If the agent tries either escalate to resolutions or call back.
