Adelaide Restaurants

We'll spend a few days in Adelaide before out Ovation cruise this April. We'll definitely be visiting Barossa valley wineries. Any recommendations for restaurants in Adelaide? We're going to stay at the Mayfair Hotel.

There is a very good in-house restaurant at the Mayfair Hotel which you may like to try.  Also George’s in Waymouth Street, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, is a good choice.  A picturesque spot is Jolley’s Boathouse, which is located on the River Torrens, a 10 minute walk north down King William Street.  A 15-20 minute taxi ride out of the city centre is the Penfold Magill Estate Restaurant (original Penfold Winery).  If you wanted to travel a little further there are many nice winery restaurants in the Adelaide Hills (The Lane or Pike & Joyce) or go south to the McLaren Vale wine region where the restaurants at D’Arenberg winery are excellent.  All of these have informative websites with up to date menus and pricing.  Hope you enjoy your time in Adelaide.

We enjoy the atmosphere of the Central Markets, where we eat at the Italian Restaurant, which is very popular.
