8373seth Posted January 24, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2020 Does anyone have information on volunteering in the Sydney area before the cruise? We will arrive on the 8th of Feb before our cruise on the 11th and would like to help with some of the issues caused by the fire(especially with the animals). I did a bit of research and found volunteer activities but they are all for at least a week. We’d set aside one of the days to volunteer if there are things we could do. (We will also be in Sydney from the 24th to the 26th on the return) So, I thought I’d ask here to see if any locals know of shorter volunteer activities. PerfectlyPerth Posted January 25, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2020 The amount of training and certification required for working with wildlife would mean that a one day drop in volunteer would just be getting in the way quite honestly. I am sure you mean well - but a donation would be much more appreciated by the many charities. More info here on the Prime Minister & Cabinet website https://www.bushfirerecovery.gov.au/how-help The main charities are listed here on the specially created government website for Bushfire Recovery and are sorted by type so scroll down to the animal welfare ones https://www.bushfirerecovery.gov.au/how-help/registered-bushfire-charities
