Found this shot of the pool under construction which seems to show that the actual pool is very small compared to the wading area around it.  If you look closely on the rendering, you'll see that the pool is actually mostly a wading area. Is this the only pool on Scarlet Lady or are there more reveals to come?

If you look at the deck plans there is another pool just after of the main pool on the same deck, but it's 1/3 the size and it's considered a 'wellbeing pool' and part of the outdoor spa/fitness area.

I will agree that the actual 'pool' part is small compared to the part that will have loungers in it so you can lay down and be partially submerged in water. It's definitely a let down because it means you can't do laps. Compare that to the pool on Celebrity's Edge Class (Also MSC's Meraviglia Class ships) where you have the main pool long enough to swim laps. I was on THAT ship twice and in the early mornings the pool is empty enough for you to actually SWIM!

I'm sure Virgin did enough research to determine that the target market they are desiring to capture has no interest in actually swimming in a ship's pool but just hanging out and staying wet.

I love a nice pool.  But ever since I started cruising back 15 or so years ago, the only time I really hung out and lounged by the pool was when I didn't book a room with a balcony.  That is not very often.  I prefer the wrap around promenade decks and just relaxing there.  Lot quieter.  But for excitement the pool deck definitely.

That said...  I rarely have used cruise ship pools out side the Spa areas.  ie Norweigian Dawn's spa pool.  Large.
