ms Nieuw Amsterdam and Zuiderdam in Port Everglades February 15, 2020

Winds are 17 mph gusting 22 from the NE.  The lines from the tugs to the Nieuw Amsterdam prevent her from blowing back into the pier...

As she left the pier she was directly abeam very high winds with gusts to 25 mph.  Lots of windage so needed help to move laterally against the wind.  As soon as she started turning, the tugs turned loose as she was then heading into the wind...
