I think one of the reasons that the remainder of the cruises from Singapore could be cancelled is the due to the updated details on the R.C. website in the past 24 hours to include Singapore and Thailand for the specialized screenings. Not sure how long they take but everyone would have to be done at the start and end of the cruise and also getting off and on in Phuket, Thailand.

  • There will be mandatory specialized health screenings performed on:
    • Any guest who has travelled from, to, or through Iran, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, or Thailand in the past 15 days.

This could be a good reason but soon it maybe a lot more countries.  Italy has had a jump in cases to 30! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nst.com.my/node/568013/amp

Royal UK website has an update from 21st Feb, as does the US site, they are different though, this is the extract from the US site....

TRAVEL ADVISORY UPDATE

The U.S. State Department published a new travel advisory. We’ve been staying on top of the situation and had already cancelled or modified most sailings in Asia through mid-March, with no sailings departing from mainland China or Hong Kong, China.

U.S. guests on cruises in Asia departing before March 23, 2020 who want to change their plans will be allowed to rebook without penalty at a later date.

We are unaware of any significant travel restrictions, delays or quarantines anywhere else in the world.  Accordingly, we look forward to welcoming our guests who are booked on itineraries outside Asia onto their cruises as scheduled.

We continue to monitor the situation constantly, and news of any travel restrictions or cancelled sailings are regularly being updated.

Linky… https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/itinerary-updates

The above is not shown on the UK site, the above has been updated, as Singapore was also listed on the no sailings sentence yesterday.

We contacted Royal yesterday, the agent knew nothing of the above, just advised our sailing (4th March) is still going.

The ship is going to be like the Marie Celeste.   :-(

Times noted are GMT -7.

Quantum has been hanging around doing loops but not long ago she has increased speed and may be on the move.

We're on 4th March Quantum sailing.   Nothing received saying otherwise.

We are on the 22 March one. Just waiting and watching developments. Our sailing and several around it are still able to be booked but not the 4th March. First showing is the 13th.

We're on the 13th, and after that we have TUI Mein Schiff 6 from Singapore to Dubai on March 18th. TUI MS is 50% owned by RCL and caters to the German market. MS 6 is right now doing a 14 night roundtrip, they sailed on the 20th from Singapore, were yesterday in Koh Samui and today they are in Laem Chabang. Then it's onwards to HCM-city and after that back south, past Singapore to the western route with Penang and Langkawi and back to Singapore on March 4th.

They don't have anything like CC, but I've been following a social media group for the current sailing. It seems to be going as planned for now, "stimmung" is great and no reports of cancellations or itinerary changes so far from the guests. And no virus-angst either.

According to dh who just returned from a captain's corner talk (Captain Been onboard Radiance),  Quantum is heading for the Philippines.   Didn't say which port or their plans and nce it gets there.  Don't know if that helps.  Oh, and Captain is leaving ship Tuesday, which we knew, but that might be earlier than expected  as his wife is due to deliver twins very soon!  When he returns dh thinks he'll be moving to Rhapsody and Vision but not sure of dates.

Quantum continues on a course towards Singapore.  They may have existing contracts to bunker,  take on supplies like fresh perishables for crew meals and to cycle some crew on previously planned rotations so this may be simply trying to use a previously scheduled stop to minimize unplanned expenses as this unfolds.

I'm guessing Royal wish they knew what the future holds for the ship.

Yup and now with an outbreak in Italy they may need to calculate what to do with Cruises in the Mediterranean if things spread.   There are still too many unknowns so RC is taking it slow.  It’s unfortunate for those that need to travel to catch a cruise but no one could have predicted this.

Maybe more idea than we think given that it would appear that our 5 night cruise out & back to Singapore in March 2021 has suddenly changed to a 14 night cruise to Tokyo, wouldn't mind betting that doesn't qualify for a refund!

The idea behind that is that Quantum goes to Alaska in summer 2021. However, not related to current virus issues.

This morning the remaining March 2020 cruises on the Quantum were still bookable. By UK lunch time they were still showing but no longer able to be booked and by dinner time no longer on the site. First cruise searchable and bookable is now the 4th of April. Got an email from R.C. UK a short time ago in response to my "what is happening" question a couple of days ago and as far as they are concerned still going ahead. Have replied appropriately!

Trueblue66 so then the first cruise searchable and bookable on Quantum is now out of Tokyo on the 4th of April 2021 and on forward ? Nothing else out of Singapore like the original April 21, 2021.

My update today .

I am just off phone with RCL US  sales rep,

and she said 4/21/21 is Code Red and unbookable as of today !

She tried finding out something for us, while I was  on hold,

and she could not find Code Red reason in her connections within RCL.

We are booked on the 4/4/20 cruise- After asking for some clarification I received an email saying there is no change to the sailing details... clear as mud! I wish they would be a little honest, is going to be our first family cruise and are booked to spend a week in Singapore prior,

The talk in this thread is about sailings this year - changes to 2021 itineraries are probably best kept in the 21-22 deployment thread - it may cut down on the confusion.

I'm booked on a Jewel r/t sailing out of Dubai next week and I just received an email from RCL stating that there will be mandatory specialized health screenings performed on anyone who has traveled from, to, or through Italy (all regions other than Lombardy and Veneto) in the past 15 days.
