Yes it did. The first subtle introduction was to eliminate the wine and make it only beer and then eliminate the beer and make it water :classic_rolleyes:

Does anyone know if you get discount on Delux Drinks when on board?

A regular cruiser says he gets 40% off for being Pinnacle on board, 30% for D+

With Royal changing things up so often is this still the case? I run the risk of VAT out of Barcelona if i get this wrong...

Onboard the discount is 30% for D+, 40% for Pinnacle. Nothing for D and below.

Onboard the prices are higher.

Onboard you will incur Spanish VAT.

You can prebuy online using your OBC to avoid the Spanish VAT as John has advised.

That is a considerable saving but i will only be D.

Does RCCL still offer discount on the packages before sailing or has that changed? If i have to ill leave until the last minute to buy the packages. At the moment they are full RRP.

Sales come and go - usually they have one around major US holidays - so I guess July 4th will be the next one.    As you have tons of OBC to use do you really want to risk it to save a few quid??

When do you sail?

Not sure if you are aware that if you buy and the package price does go down you just cancel and rebook at the lower price. If you initially paid using OBC that is refunded immediately so you can use it again.

We sail 19th July.

Last year they discounted some packages randomly but we had drinks included anyway so it was only the dining packages which appeared.

I thought when you booked the drinks it no longer showed you the prices?

With the OBC it doesnt go very far towards the drink packages and meal package we are after so ideally id want 20% off if i can find it.

So logged in this morning and the price has changed.

151 GBP for  U Dining package

49.50 per day for Delux Drinks

Seems too much for a currency change and seems to little to be an actual discount. Possibly 10% ?

At this moment im more inclined to think that the whole cruise might be cancelled due to Corona in Italy

£742.84 for 2 deluxe drinks

£328.10 for 2 UDP

Yup you’re right... UDP is actually £147.57 when you add it to the cart so even cheaper than it shows on first screen. £295.14 for 2

Deluxe drinks were £742.84 now £693.32 for 2

Reading between the lines i think they are panicking.

Prices are very low for this cruise in peak time and OBC on top. I dont think they are getting many package sales either since its port heavy and very costly in general.

Im expecting further discount and then possibly the cruise being cancelled if Italy deteriorates further with this virus.

Im due to fly to Italy on Sunday to Ski which is just amazing given the proximity to this virus. Im not too concerned with the virus im more concerned with being quarantined for weeks because ive got a sore throat on way back (which happens most times i go)

RCCL are claiming there is 25% off the price of a drinks package at £42.50 per day. But they are adding 18% grats to £49.50

This discount is only showing on the mobile website and not the desktop which seems odd? Is this really 25% off?

Also if i purchase can i continue to track the price and cancel and rebuy if it goes down?

Yes if price goes down you cancel and rebook.

If you bought using your OBC that is refunded immediately for you to use again.

If you bought using creditcard it can take a few weeks for the refund to be processed.

Have you seen that they have started including free flights for the earlier Allure sailings.  24/5 is as cheap as chips!  I'm very tempted!

Where is the free flight?

Given the state of Italy (which i flew back from today) im not sure how all of this will unfold.

Just seen that its cheap to go in June with free flights and some OBC.

I think there is more risk in the early cruises than the late ones. Until they get a way to offload and test infected people then cruise industry is in trouble.
