behooves Posted February 24, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) This may fall into the category of a "duh" question, but I will ask anyway. I uploaded a photo to the test forum in several resolutions ranging from 6000 x 4000 to 200 x 134. When I look at the posted photos, it appears that everything from the 6000 x 4000 down to 800 x 534 appear exactly the same in size and quality. Below that, the size of the appeared image gets smaller, but the quality seems to hold. Given the fact that cruise ship internet quality generally ranges from poor to horrible, is it safe to assume that uploading an image to CC of any image larger than 800 x Y (800 being the long edge) is useless? If you are posting to these forums, a long-edge of 800 or so will get your point across quite nicely. The code on CC seems to limit the forum column to 800px width, which nicely explains your experiences with different sizes. Limiting to 800px and noting the fact that you can post cropped images to present details makes that a good compromise size for a glacial internet connection. Reduced file. Handy crop for detail. Not really a "duh" question...especially since I agree with your conclusion! 🙂 Dave

Question - is the cropped pic cropped from the already reduced file, or did you crop the original and then reduce?
pierces Posted February 25, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2020 Original. Subset of the original resolution. Dave
