I got obc for a drop in price.   If I do not use it will I get a refund at the end of the cruise?

Thank you

Unfortunately, "the onboard credit is non-refundable, non-transferable and has no cash value. Any unused portion of the onboard credit will be forfeited."- I took this from Carnival's website here https://www.carnival.com/legal/specials-terms-conditions.aspx

No... But it can be used to cover gratuities if you didn't prepay them.

If you absolutely need to cash it out, go to the Casino, and use one of the machines and load the amount of OBC you have left. Play a little bit for low money, then go cash out at the casino cashier.

Keep in mind, the casino will close at some point during the final night (especially early if you are in NOLA where you hit US waters earlier because of the need to sail up the river).

  Hi,
I was reading the forum here hoping to find the answer to my question. 🙂🙂

My cruise, out of NOLA, at the end of this month, dropped by $270 — which they gave me in OBC, instead of an outright Refund. It was after Final Payment of course.  I also received an OBC of $100 and  Free Upgrade from Balcony 8B to 8C.

I have everything already pre-paid ... Grats, Internet, Excursions, etc.  I have a great time on my cruisers, I just don’t drink, gamble or visit the spa. So, I was wondering how to recoup the money I spent for my cruise.

Thank You for explaining how it’s done!

Since I haven’t ever actually received OBC like this, I hadn’t paid attention on exactly how to “do” the Casino refund (so to speak).

It closes late at night like usual.  It opens before leaving the Mississippi

I have a few OBC questions as I’ve never had this much before and am wondering how we are going to use it all. We always get Cheers and aren’t gamblers so we spend very little once we get on board. We’ve already booked excursions and specialty dining. Below are some options I’m thinking about

Can we use it to purchase Cheers once we get on board? (I know the price goes up but if our OBC covers 80% of the cost then it doesn’t matter)

OR

Can it somehow be used to tip the crew? If I sign my receipt for any drink we get with a decent tip will it come out of OBC? I’d love to tip them a significant amount of I’m able to

I’m also considering skipping the drink package this time and just paying for each one as we go to use OBC and if we go over will be less than the cost of Cheers. So many options

I know I can always spend it in the spa or shops but neither one of those are much interest to either of us. Trying to use it the most beneficial way that we’d enjoy or be able to share with crew.

We have onboard credit from a price drop & excursion price match as well and are planning to use it towards drinks instead of getting cheers. As you stated, if we go over it’s still cheaper than purchasing cheers.

I called a recieved additional onboard credit due to a price drop. I recieved the email that shows the OBC. Is there anywhere this shows up on the hub app? I have looked at the order and booking details online and see the price changes but no OBC is stated there.

This is probably a better way to ask my questions above. What can’t we use it for?

You can't use it for a deposit on a future cruise.

You can't use it for purchases (Cheers etc) PRIOR to cruising.

Otherwise you can use it against all expenses you incur on board.

Happy sailing.

Edited to add:  it will go toward your gratuities unless you pre-pay them.

Not sure about it appearing in the Hub app but if you go to your Cruise Manager, select Print Documents and Print General Information the OBC show up on the second page right below the Itemized Charges section.

We are on the Breeze on 4/25  for 7 days and i just checked our account and do not see any OBC processed towards it.   Do I need to have travel agent contact Carnival or will it show up on its own?   I know last time she asked Carnival something she was on the phone forever waiting for them to pick up.   Don't want to waste her time if its going to come thru on its own.     Thanks for any help on this.
