I wanted to share with you my 20 for 2020 goals for the year. In December I read a couple of postings [on the other social media board we can't mention 😜] about setting goals for the new year.  I am not one to make resolutions because I find I don't keep them.

So, the idea is that you select 20 things you want to do in 2020 and do it/them 20 times.  Some are bigger goals and others are small--or even silly. I created a chart and I am keeping track.

So you have to do each item 20 times?  That means clothes shopping twice a month.  I know I couldn't do a lot of these 20 times each.  Good luck.

Can't wait to hear more of your cruise.

I know it will be hard.  But, I was trying to encourage myself to do several little shopping trips to get things.  Some of these may not be realistic.  but, I am going to see how I do.

I arrived at the port at 11:40.  There was a lighted sign by the entrance telling us not to arrive before Noon. 😮  However, they were allowing cars and buses to enter and park.  DD dropped us off and we joined the line.  The line went from the entrance to the side of the building [where we joined] and it grew down the side back toward the ship.  It was an impressive line.

At 11:50 is they opened the doors.  We were asked a series of questions. Had we been to S Korea, China, Hong Kong etc. Then they asked if we had been to or through Spain, Italy or Germany or had been in contact with anyone who had?  Then a couple of questions about our health. No fever, etc.

There were ladies with no touch temp readers just before the security line.  The problem was we had all been in the cold for a while and our foreheads were too cold to read a temp.  If it did not read a temp they waited a minute or so to let you warm up. Eventually they let more people into the security waiting area and people had time to warm up before the check. This process was a little slow and was why the line was long.

Looking forward to hearing about your cruise!

Has the Baltimore boarding ramp been repaired?  It was down for the count at the first of the year.

Stay well and have lots of fun!

I do not think so.  We walked in on deck 1. I have seen them use this entrance for handicapped passengers in the past.

We got on the ship around 12:45 and went to the Windjammer for lunch.  [There was a crew member operating the elevator for us.]  There were lots of open tables when we got there and even as we left we did not see anyone walking around looking for a seat.  It also seemed a little subdued.

They announced our cabins will not be ready until 3pm and the Windjammer will be open for lunch until 3:45pm. So, DH and I are in the Solarium resting on a lounge chair.  There were several empty ones when I got here and there are still 2 empty ones beside me now. Grandeur has a nice, but small indoor Solarium.  It is usually busier.  I will be interested to see if this is because of the delayed boarding or if passengers cancelled.

PS--They had large bottles of sanitizer on the check-in desks.  I used it and I saw many others doing it, too.  We got sanitizer at the entrance to the Windjammer and DH and I used a couple individually wrapped sanitizer wipes I brought on our hands after getting our food.  I know it is a little over the top. 😜

Here are a couploe of pictures of today's Cruise Compass.  20200307_144430.thumb.jpg.509cb35bafaed3fb3a0b064dd8182a4d.jpg

I notice that the activities are organized a little differently.  It used to be a running list by time.  Now it is divided by type of activity.  I will let you know if I like this better after I have used it a couple of days.

They announced the cabins were ready at 2:45.  I think we will head down there.  Talk to you later.

We just had the muster drill and the captain announced that because of strong waves off the coast of North Carolina we are going to anchor in the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis until tomorrow morning.

Then we will journey down the bay and out to sea. He thinks we'll get to the Atlantic about 6:00pm tomorrow night. He said we should be able to make up the time over the next 3 days. We will see.

Of course, the casino and shops will be closed.

Dragon...thanks for such detailed updates. I'm following this closely. We need to make the decision as to whether to go or not on the 2nd leg of your B2B. Interesting about the delay of sail going out of the bay. Comforting that the captain has made the decision to avoid the rougher weather. Following my experience on the Sky, I'll forever be indebted to bridge crews who anticipate potentially bad weather sailing and do the most possible to try and avoid it. Looking forward to hearing more!!  Enjoy, but most importantly, stay healthy. That goes for all on board hopefully!
