With cruises less populated - good time to test 2 Oasis class ships at Coco Cay?

Recommended Posts

For the next two months seems like ships will sail less full.

Could need to be docking more ships at CC if other ships get redeployed from Asia/Europe. Sailings out of FL feel safer than international travel for americans still willing to cruise once we've adapted to the virus sticking around.

CoCo Cay and Labadee might be the only ports of call accepting RC ships.

Private Islands might become the ship’s destinations for all islands. 🤷‍♂️

CoCo Cay is part the Bahama's staffed with nationals.  I imagine if they are imposing bans on Nassau, they would also apply to the private islands.

Labadee would be a different story as Haiti may be more lenient.

Agreed. In reality I could see the issue being Bahamians not wanting to work there if  ships were allowed to dock.

I agree, that Haiti maybe more lenient.

Not a true test of the island handling two Oasis class ships.  I hope they don't make any sort of judgement based on this.

Dan

I think the OP's thought was if the ships were not filled to capacity.

The photo op with two ships was a charter situation around superbowl time.  They do plan on having pretty much two oasis class ship capacity toward the end of the year. Seems like if they plan on getting there anyway, a test run would be a good way to list any problems and come up with solutions.

Some of the cancelations have to also be canceling items reserved on Coco Cay so bringing another ship in that had planned to be at sea could help recoup a tiny part of the losses they are seeing related to CV.

Just a thought.
