Back in the 90’s I remember someone did a remix on this song.  It wasn’t my type of music but was my teenage son’s at the time.   I started singing along and knowing I didn’t know the group, he surprisingly asked the obvious question. I went on to inform him that I’ve been listening to this song since the Tokens did it in the 60’s!

...and The Kingston Trio before that!

I love it too

Which version:

Wimoweh - Weavers 1952

Wimoweh - Kingston Trio 1959 (my favorite chant version)

The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tokens 1961

The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Robert John 1972 (my favorite)

and many dozens more......

LOL

OMG and WOW is right!!!  Unbelievable! Thank goodness she was spotted and safely rescued by that ferry boat.

With that said, I’m wondering if anyone else on CC is tempted to buy an inflatable unicorn just to get aboard one of the cruise ships floating off Florida’s coast.  Probably not.  (sigh)

Does anyone, other than me, wonder where her parents are & that it's a ferry rescuing her vs. the Greek Coast Guard or local water rescue team looking for her?

Thank you for posting "the rest of the story."

Terrifying and heartwarming, all at the same time.

Similar thing happened in MA this week.  .

WOW again.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

With the first video, the passenger on the Greek ferry who took it said he posted it on social media “to show the danger of the sea toys we all use extensively,”  These two incidents are a wake up call.

In both cases, the parents were there but were no match for the winds and currents that were able to so quickly grab hold and swift away these very large inflatables with these very small children on them.

Please spread the warning that they should NOT be used as “sea”  toys!
