LOL.  My dad worked for the Naval Research Lab back in the early 70's.  He went to an association meeting (he was a chemist) and met someone who asked him where he worked. He told them and the guy completely seriously asked about research being done on navels.  They walk among us.

One of my oldest son's best friends is currently working on his PhD in botany. His main focus of research? Navel orange crop protection.
