VMax1700 Posted March 17, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2020 Just thought I would send everyone best thoughts and a happy St Patrick's Day! He drove out the snakes now maybe he can drive out the virus 🤞 Anyway, enjoy the day that is in it and hope that we all can go cruising again soon. (p.s. it is St Patrick's Day or Paddy's Day but never ever St Patty's day!) 😄

travelnap Posted March 17, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2020 Vmax1700, Everyone is in mourning today. As you well know, on St Patrick's Day everyone is Irish. They are closing the bars and pubs all over the world because of the Virus. What a sad, sad, day to all of us, the real Irish, and the once a year Irish folk. What is St Patrick's Day without a visit to our favorite watering hole?
Seasick Sailor Posted March 17, 2020 #8 Share Posted March 17, 2020 Vmax1700, when we were in Ireland last year, my favorite thing to do in the evening was to go to a pub and enjoy the music, dancing, and poetry. I guess this year we will have a virtual pub here at home, listening to an Irish CD we bought while in your lovely country. Happy St. Patrick's Day and a lift of the glass!

RuthC Posted March 17, 2020 #10 Share Posted March 17, 2020 Top o' the mornin' to ya, VMax. And to all, as well. Since we can't go to drinking establishments tonight, I plan to have a green cocktail with supper. Am wearing my shamrock earrings, and a Celtic knot lavalier.

Vict0riann Posted March 17, 2020 #12 Share Posted March 17, 2020 I am making soda bread today, and defrosting some lovely BC smoked salmon. It is my husband, Patrick's , feast day, and though I can't give him his favourite black pudding, I will do the soda bread! Pat had to call his friends and cousins in Ireland to tell them we would not be there next month. Boo. Thank you VMax1700, for the reminder. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, too.

Himself Posted March 17, 2020 #17 Share Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) And the same to you, my friend from County Cork. I am an American of only Irish Ancestry. My mothers ancestors come from Mayo--God Help us. My Father's mother was born in Lietrim and paternal grand father had parents whose people came from Down and Donegal.( Why any one would leave Donegal is something I will never understand.)
