St Patrick's Day

usually brings up visions of big crowds and lots of drinking. It is a big celebration that is also done up on the ships.

Today, the celebrations will be much smaller. Officially, the celebration in Savannah (biggest in Georgia) has been cancelled. Unofficially many people will be out partying anyway.

Locally, the city council in Athens met last night and decreed that no more than 10 can congregate in bars and restaurants other than the staff. It was pushed thru last night to cut down on the crowds tonight. It might not help.

Whichever path you choose, please be safe.

Thank you for today’s report, Rich!

The staying 6 - 10 feet away from other people is the tough recommendation to follow. I am trying to get the people on my street to do a group sing from our respective front yards of “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” tonight. We won’t have the same acoustics as the folk in the Italian City did, but....

Stay healthy everyone! And safe travels to everyone still making their way home.

Good morning Cat. That sounds like a very fun idea. Would love to see that one!

Me too. Though much more effective in one of the big cities’ canyons.

Thanks Rich for the Daily.  Good points on your post. People should not take chances right now.

I'm just about to sit down and write an email to our neighbors, closing our clubhouse to parties and potlucks. We live in a 55+ community that are very active. Since we were just in 3 airports, airplanes, and the ship, I felt Allen and I should shelter in place.

Happy St. Paddy's Day to everyone. I am Bohemian, but plan on celebrating the green tonight!

Has anyone noticed Westerdam arrived in Honolulu yesterday?  I didn't see any mention of it on the HAL board.  Anyone from Honolulu have any local news reports?

I wish there was something here on Cruise Critic to see (or hear about).  We could all use a little good news!

Plans are to end the fka at the end of the week. Just wanted to give people time to get used to the new name

SERIOUSLY?  They are all planning on resuming their schedules <1 month from now?

Even if this thing has peaked today worldwide...and I don't believe that it has....a necessary isolation period of two further weeks will only take us up to the end of this month.  And they expect to have everything logistically solved (crew assignments/contracts, ships in place and provisioned, etc) within two weeks of that?  I don't think so.🙃
