Cruises Booked for September 2020

Recommended Posts

I also received an email in regards to keeping the cruise booked, rescheduling, or cancelling for cruises through September.  I feel like September is a little too far out for my family and I to decide right now.  If you're booked in September, what did you decide to do?  Also, did you proceed with booking excursions or are you going to wait to make sure that the cruise doesn't get cancelled first?  My fear is that the cruise might go on and excursions will be sold out because I waited too long.

Opinion for my situation only.  Every family has different circumstances.

I have not cancelled our Sept cruise.  Waiting day to day.

Some popular excursions with limited availability do sell out.  My experience has been that is not the usual case.  No guarantees.  Excursions are 100% refundable if you cancel within 48 hours or so prior to sail date.  Check the website for exact terms and conditions.

Have you booked an excursion through Carnival before?  I know for the alcohol and soda package, you have to prepay, but since I've never booked an excursion through Carnival before, I tried selecting one and going to check out.  Since there's no payment requested, am I able to cancel it online through my trip manager at any time before the 48 hours prior to sail date?  Or will I have to call?  And will they just bill it to the onboard sail & sign account?  Or will it be added to what I owe on the cabin currently?

Thank you for your input!  This is my 6th time sailing with Carnival, but my first time booking an excursion through them.

We have a Sept 2020 cruise booked through PCL - we are holding in place right now.  Too soon to decide IMO.  We've only booked one excursion, and it's through the cruise line.  It's one that usually sells out prior to sailing.  Honestly, DH and I do not plan to cancel this cruise.  Only way we will not go is if PCL cancels it for us OR we were to have a family or medical emergency. I just hope we can get flights to get to the port of embarkation.  Time will tell with all of this for sure.  I just hope the industry survives.  It's the ONLY way we vacation. 😞

Which excursion did you book and for what port, if you don't mind me asking? Also, when I tried booking an excursion online last night, there wasn't a place for me to pay for it. Do they not require pre-payment anymore or was that a website error?

I don't mind at all.  It's the Endicott Arm excursion, just before the ship arrives in Juneau.  This is the excursion where they offload you onto a smaller boat and it goes up into Endicott Arm.  You then meet the ship back at Juneau later that day.  We've done this same one in Tracy Arm - absolutely amazing!  Yes - I had to pre-pay.

My DH and I have a cruise booked for September 2020 and at this point we are not cancelling our cruise. It's too early to really make any predictions of what might be or not be. We're still going and we did take advantage of the OBC. We've been waiting on this cruise for a while and we are both looking forward to it.

We're booked on the Radiance out of NYC for the Canada/New England itinerary in September. I have not canceled. I have also not received an email from Carnival offering that option. I have, however, seen the offer on Carnival's website and have decided - like others - to hold in place. Like so many others, we're in a holding pattern - still working (for now) and keeping as low a profile as we can.

September 12th on the Magic. We’re not canceling. Air fare is nonrefundable. Our ports have great beaches and San Juan city walk will work for us. No need for excursions this time. We’re also flying into Miami a couple of days early. Enjoy their city.

I am going on Sept 12 too, but on the Vista. My extended family is joining us and it's their first cruise. I would hate to have to cancel it so we are gonna hold out until Carnival cancels our cruise.

I'm also booked on a Radiance Sep-20 NYC on the Canada/New England itinerary.  I will keep this booking as well.  It will be something to look forward to especially on a refurbished ship on an awesome itinerary.  I have been on this itinerary twice before on Carnival and it will be a great cruise.  I especially enjoy Halifax.  Let's all hope for the best for all.

We're booked on the freedom sailing Sept. 13. It was paid in full in late January, with Carnival gift cards. We have no plans to cancel at this time. But with both of us over 70, who knows what will happen. 🙏

Sept 28th booked on Inspiration.

Thought about switching to a longer trip, a week sooner, on Panorama (it's only a few dollars more for me now that prices dropped).

Still debating over this.

A longer cruise and moving from an old Fantasy class ship to the biggest and brightest Carnival has to offer right now? That is a no brainer, just do it!

Booked on the Legend from Venice departing Sept 29.  3 couples, 70's, 60's and 50's.  No one wants to cancel yet, but all are keeping an eye on the news.  Final payment due June 17, so we have a while to see/cuss/discuss.

The only issue is that I can't get a hold of anyone at Carnival right now to do it

I was able to reach someone yesterday. The only problem was, I was on hold for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour. 😣 and I called as soon as they opened.
