Hi to all my Cruise Critic friends,

My wife seen this picture today of me and the HOT cutie and she couldn’t stop laughing. She told me all the people at Cruise Critic now know for sure I’m crazy. I told her that I try to help when I can with some serious answers. But I love to bring a little humor to my CC friends. I really hope you all don’t get mad at me. Now back to the serious side. I went to the MGH hospital today for my first Pfizer’s Covid Vaccine shot. Everything went great no problems at all. No Side affects or Pain so far 😁

Love Ya All,

The Captain of The Rowboat,

Tony

I for one need a little  humor  these days . Please don't stop! 🙂

Do you wear a mask in the OR?  Or is it optional for those undergoing surgery who don't believe in wearing them?

Yep, I do. Even for those that don't believe in them.  I do believe that anti-maskers should fall at the end of the line for the vaccines. Does that make me a bad person?

Don't you wish your were there now to experience all this?

I'm at an ambulatory surgery center. We test ALL patients for Covid. If your test isn't back before surgery, we cancel and reschedule you. And the only difference for us is that we wear masks the entire time we're at work, not just in the ORs. Even the front desk staff. The only place we don't wear one is in the locker room and break room. I'm tired of masks, but am so used to wearing one that I don't even notice them any more.  I so look forward to the day this is under control and I can see my patients' faces again.

On the bright side, my nose isn't cold outside.

I am a therapist in a skilled rehab/nursing facility. Masks and face shields, gowns with quarantine patients (first 2 weeks in building), COVID tests twice a week.  I was happy when we got to back to surgical masks instead of N95!

Worked in long term care for many years. Ended up in rehab recently. What a freakin pit! When I could get up on my walker I checked on neighbors at night when the floor was empty. Would not put a dog there. Don't get me wrong some good people  .Last I knew you did not clean a person with severe psoriasis with wet rolled up TP.  Watch out for your sick loved ones! I do appreciate the therapists I have coming to my home!

😞

Tony I think you brain has become frozen if you think that she is a HOT cutie!  It appears she is probably pretty COLD HEARTED instead.  I was once married to a woman like that.

It's getting better.

TRAVEL: Princess' West Coast ships are turning green for crew.

FINANCIAL: DS' new job income almost equals his mortgage + child support. Took 1st job offered.  S proudly told me that he managed to pay off 1/2 his student loans while interest was frozen despite working less than 1/2 time. If this keeps up his intention is to have them paid off by September when they can start charging interest again. Then save up to go for his teaching certificate in 2022-2023. DD struggling with her reduced income but quit unemployment.

HEALTH: I put myself back on the vaccine waiting list after turning down last Monday's appointment. 3rd year cancer free

So all in all, life is good!!

Great news on reaching year-3 cancer free.  That as worth celebrating!  Hopefully you won’t need to wait too long to get scheduled for the vaccine.

We can’t believe our luck - registered on 7 sites for shots and just received a call scheduling us to receive the Moderna vaccine on Wednesday.  Wohoo!  I’m going to open some champagne now.   😀🍾🥂

That is fantastic news!!! My Mum has just past her third year anniversary of being cancer free. Considering the aggressiveness of the type of breast cancer and the damage the chemotherapy did to her, she’s travelling well.

That’s great news for all who have been able to have the start of the vaccine. I think and I could be wrong that the first round for those who fall within the scope might start in a couple of weeks. One of the vaccines yet to be approved in Australia will also be able to be manufactured in Melbourne, so that should help with the roll out.

From my understanding Australia is one of the countries helping with vaccines for the South Pacific countries.

ombud;  Did I miss the reason you declined the vaccine date and now you're going to get it?

This is why I'm trying to time it to get the J&J one. Plus they gave me an appointment time when I'd be watching 3 grandkids (5, 7, 7). I'm not standing in line with those 320210208_120406.thumb.jpg.54d23219d55f249d0466fc2f625d683c.jpg

I was lucky to get an appointment at a mass vaccine clinic at a Six Flags amusement park.  Appointment is tomorrow.  Unfortunately it is supposed to start snowing tonight and ending tomorrow morning.  Could get 1-3 inches.  Where I live that is enough that they could cancel the clinic  😞

I too.  I was administrator in long term care for a Christian non profit ( 501c3).   There is a world of difference in  a non-profit and a proprietary (for profit) organization.

Non profits care for people and the others operate to make money for owners.  Non profits have income used only to care for it's recipients.

Big difference.  Much the same as a bank vs. a member owned credit union.

Look closely at who's running the show and you will better understand why and how it is run.

Even the old 'county poor farm' provided (IN GENERAL) better care than those in business to make money.

Shots today and we both have slight discomfort at injection site but no biggie - had the same thing with shingles shot.  I’ve medicated with glass of wine.  Phil has slight headache so he’ll try the Tylenol route.  The  CDC and others don’t recommend taking Tylenol or ibuprofen right before receiving the shot, but appear to be ok with it if discomfort occurs later.  I’ll stick with the wine, just to be safe.
