Alaska to Require All Arriving Travelers to Quarantine

Recommended Posts

Alaska is much like the rest of the world right now.  In addition to the quarantine mandate for anyone coming into Alaska, many of the tribal governments here have requested no visitors within their villages.  They do not have medical facilities to accommodate the COVID-19 situation.  Many villages only have a health aid, and some do not have any type of medical clinic at all.  I fear for the population of Alaska.

Many states are requiring a self quarantine when one arrives from another state or from abroad.  We are currently in Texas for cancer treatment which is scheduled to continue until April 14th, fingers crossed!  When we drive to NM to return home we will self-quarantine.  Friends have offered to get us groceries as there is of course nothing fresh at home, we will have been gone a little less than 4 months.  Can only do one day at a time, and one day is enough at a time!

Travelers everywhere have to regularly adjust their plans, their timing and their thinking! Maureen
