hallux Posted March 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2020 Keep in mind - that FAQ was put together when the initial suspension was put in place. I'm sure they're evaluating things daily.

luv2kroooz Posted March 26, 2020 #7 Share Posted March 26, 2020 Standby. April, and possibly May, cancellations forthcoming. Current stateroom occupancy at levels that make operating a cruise non profitable, ports of call closed (some for 30 days, some through July 1, some indefinitely), flight schedules disrupted, risk of virus contraction and spread still elevated. All of the above makes offering a cruise vacation very challenging and unwise.
Liljo22 Posted March 26, 2020 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2020 Carnival is going to announce what they are doing tomorrow. I am sure NCL will announce the same day.
jennmaybe Posted March 26, 2020 #9 Share Posted March 26, 2020 I don’t know where in the world they think they are going to cruise to in April. Absurd!!
PelicanBill Posted March 26, 2020 #10 Share Posted March 26, 2020 One hazzard... even if ships start sailing we will have many many ports refusing ships for quite some time.
phillyguy31 Posted March 26, 2020 #11 Share Posted March 26, 2020 Isn't anybody thinking anymore? They are not going to change that until they officially cancel the cruises. Are they going to, yes. Why haven't they, it may just be as simple as trying to get through the first round of refunds before opening the flood gates again. Everyone want to demonize the cruise lines, but their entire system wasn't designed to handle the amounts of cancellations and refunds that are now happening. When they had to refund one cruise it took a while now multiply by 100 and what do you expect? Plus the most of their employees are working from home(hopefully) which doesn't help the situation. Can't we all just take a breath and realize that we are all in the same situation and have a little patience.
Comi.uy Posted March 26, 2020 #12 Share Posted March 26, 2020 RC announced they will extend their suspension. Im sure NCL will do the same for at least one more month, just they;ll do it last minute so people go for the FCC offer and then dont have to refund.

Isabella Benjamin Posted March 26, 2020 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2020 I guess they are just going to do this incrementally. They don't want people to lose faith and figure out that "summer vacation" is a phrase that just isn't going to apply to the year 2020.

Paphillyguy Posted March 26, 2020 #17 Share Posted March 26, 2020 They are running a business. Why would they make the closure any longer then they need to. They can always extend. Also, if they are listening to the President then Easter is the day.

We were booked on a 3/22 sailing and my brother never did the online check-in. On 3/20 they emailed him warning it was his final chance to check-in in advance.... for his canceled cruise. On 3/20, I also got notified that none of my upgrade bids had been accepted...
