rotjeknor Posted March 28, 2020 #127 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Great !! last year when sailed from amsterdam with the Rotterdam and passed by the Statendam which was right in front of us, both ships hung that horn for about 5 minutes !! Usually when the Rotterdam sails from Rotterdam she blows her horn everytime she passes a town on her way to sea, a nice tradition !

Vic The Parrot Posted March 28, 2020 #129 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Good show, Captain! Now that my lap is empty (cat decided to go for a snack), I can jump to the store. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon everyone. 😎
rjbean4 Posted March 28, 2020 #130 Share Posted March 28, 2020 (edited) Was sure awesome to hear our ship flexing her lungs. Since my mom is having a harder time doing steps I brought my laptop down so she could also see this. Was so hard to see her with no one out on deck. Copper10-8 Posted March 28, 2020 Author #138 Share Posted March 28, 2020 For those interested, Veendam is scheduled/not yet confirmed for 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PST; I would think no toeters at that time of the night
ger_77 Posted March 28, 2020 #139 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Aw, rats, I missed them ! ! ! ! I've been busy sewing masks for immuno-compromised people, and got carried away. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
travelnap Posted March 28, 2020 #140 Share Posted March 28, 2020 At least the crew can enjoy a sailaway when they have no passengers aboard.

travelnap Posted March 28, 2020 #143 Share Posted March 28, 2020 Silent departure from AOTS, not near as much fun as watching the Nieuw Amsterdam sail out of the harbor. Thanks again Copper. Good Night.
Himself Posted March 28, 2020 #144 Share Posted March 28, 2020 John I appreciate your efforts. If any other HAL ships come into town please let us know.

Every ship sails at 3 or 4 right now. BTW, if you (and everyone else here that loves toots) want another fix, check out the post on the Princess board titled Sky and Caribbean have a horn battle.

I know I do. I bet they would welcome the toots. Hope Veendam delivers.
