FCC for groups. Is it MINE or OURS?

Recommended Posts

Our group was booked on the 11 Night New Orleans and Mexico cruise, scheduled to sail on April 21 from Fort Lauderdale. We booked it exactly two years ago, and chose it for the three days in NOLA during the jazz festival. Now we have a problem because Celebrity does not have this itinerary in its future scheduled cruises. It appears only once, on February 7, 2021.

This date will not work for a number of us because it’s the beginning of the school year here in South Africa. For others though, it doesn’t matter, and they would like to rebook the cruise for this date.

What we don’t know and need some input from those in the know is how the FCC works in this instance. Of the 16 cabins we booked, only 5 were to be occupied by couples. The rest is made up of mainly single women, sharing staterooms assigned by age, or which part of the country they come from. One cabin had 3 persons.

Our travel agent has told us the FCC will be issued by stateroom. What I would like to know is whether Celebrity will allow individuals to use their portion of the FCC for an itinerary that appeals, at a convenient time of the year, or whether we are forever tied to the roommates we were assigned in this cruise.

Our booking was on a non-refundable deposit basis.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct that each individual will receive a separate FCC, but when three are sharing a cabin it’s not split equally.

We got three FCC’s for our cancelled around Japan cruise, the amount is based on the cruise fare each individual was invoiced. So passengers 1 and 2 got an equal amount, the 3rd passenger received considerably less as their fare was at a reduced rate being the third person sharing the cabin.

Hope this helps.

It the travel agent (hopefully) or X booked group space and each person paid separately then the FCC will go back to those who booked.

If the group host collected the money and Celebrity had a single payer group reservation - maybe not.

Thankfully, we all paid individually.

Your TA should be able to handle things with one call.  Be sure and suggest patience for you group. Things are a bit chaotic right now.

Celebrity has confirmed the wonderful news. 👍

FCC will be send to the email register in the group, and it will be a PDF voucher showing amount per passenger, voucher number and redeem instructions.
FCC are issue per person, which means, guest are not forced to travel together. As long as guest travel before December 31st, 2021. furthermore, certificates are non- transferable and not cash redeemable.
