My TSOTD is similar.... "I'm Retired, but I work part-time as a Pain In The Ass"

Amazingly, most of my acquaintances say that's true. I'm not sure why.😮😲

sigh….😇

Not that you are looking for a serious answer but yeah. Message board forums are a dying breed. Like landline phones, pagers and typewriters.

Last cruise I researched, I spent more time on u tube and book of faces than here.  Makes me go hum.....😇

Trying to wrap up Day 5 of the Disney Trip Report:

After walking around the shops, we checked out the scenery along the water front homes.  They built a walkway behind all the houses for public access so everyone can have view of the boats and the water.  The is south/west facing so you can see the sunset on a clear day.

There were many signs for vacation rentals so many people rent the place as a big family gathering.  I saw some online places goes up to 6 beds, which can fit a multi-generational family summer vacation.

Lots of people strolling the walk way as it goes all around the perimeter of the island.  We only walk maybe 25% of the entire perimeter.

Time to go back to the Balboa Pier area where we parked.  Waiting for the Ferry

Ferry Info

20210811_165240.thumb.jpg.0577563f2ed75835d09bcbe138968626.jpg

Here’s our ride back

20210811_165710.thumb.jpg.4b2f283ef8e3130e6b162e45672886f0.jpg

Here’s the ferry going the other way.  Looks like they packed 3 cars on that one.

20210811_165918.thumb.jpg.142be2661e0efbb2ba3260114ed29504.jpg

So we are back to the Balboa Pier area.  This ice cream shop is called “COWAFORNIA” – per the sign, they serve Dole Soft Serve.  But we had enough ice cream for the afternoon…

20210811_170211.thumb.jpg.20dd960713276e2168f129447b6270dd.jpg

Next to the ice cream shop is the New York Pizza sold by the slice.  I dunno, CA is not known for its pizzas.  Odds are this NY style can’t be that great…

Made it back to the lot but before we head out, time to touch/feel the sand beneath our toes

As discussed in previous post, Port of LA is to the right.  Hard to see in the haze, but lots of sail boats to the right in the ocean

For those cruisers who have forgotten what beach sand looked like due to Covid…

Trying to be artistic in taking pictures at a slight tilt but the result didn’t turned out so great – don’t quit your daytime job.  That's probably why you don't see too many Accounting and Art Double Majors in college...

The shot of the pier reminded me that I had originally wanted to go underneath the pier to take a picture from there as I have seen some cool photos/movies with view from underneath other piers but totally forgot to do it. Oh, well...

There’s something to be said about sand between your toes - but I just don’t know what that might be…

OK, last more pictures of the beach before heading back to the hotel.  Looks like some people have cleared out of the parking lot after 5 PM

Last year, my gas mower died.  While in Florida this past winter, we were in Home Depot and I saw the Ryobi battery operated mower, and told Jim I wanted one.  I love it!!

My gas died this year and I bought the Ryobi too!  What I like about it is you don’t have to yank on a rope to start it.  At first the screw on the screw on the adjustable handle came loose.  As a safety thing it will not run with it loose.  It took awhile to figure it out but no problem now.  Although I have a riding mower I usually use the Ryobi in the in the front yard for a more even cut.

I have replaced a lot with Ryobi.  We also got the Ryobi battery garden tiller, air blower and other stuff.

Never had a lawn service for any of our homes.  I do a much better job than some of my neighbors that do have a yard service and our yard looks a lot better also. No HOA for our subdivision. To be honest, I actually enjoy it, and I work cheap. I do all the edging, trimming, mowing, watering (automatic sprinkler system), fertilizing and pest control. Great way to keep the tan going and to escape reality (temporarily) . My wife does all the planting and upkeep of flowers. Enjoying a cold Budweiser as I type this. Wine later for HH. My pay.  🍷🍻

Gardening is great exercise and can be really satisfying.  It's meant to be good for mental health too ,though I'm not so sure when bugs get your plants and my tomatoes won't ripen 😡

Took awhile to get back to our hotel in Anaheim with lots of traffic jam long the way. Southern CA must have one of the most complex set of highways out there.

Relaxed in the hotel room and drank more of the Aloe drinks on ice. They are pretty additive. Costco sells the sampler pack with 4 flavors (forgot to take out mango for this picture).

752520412_20210811_183403(1).thumb.jpg.9c7cf5a26f99ba356e444bf6b5a94875.jpg

Anyway, the boys wanted to swim for a bit at the hotel pool while my wife cooked the last of the ribs from Costco. We also got some Indian Curry from Costco on day 2 so that would be our dinner.  She wanted the Mickey shaped ice cream bar so I drove out to the nearest Target to get some.

Do you folks ever look at the permits while inside the elevator?  I do. Many times I find them to be expired.  Always gives me warm fuzzies when my life is dependent on an elevator that is most likely the cheapest option when they first constructed the building and operating on an expired permit.

Forgot to take picture of the box of Instant Chicken Curry from Costco, but I think that one is nationwide as I have seen Youtuber from Chicago talking about it

What was that green drink?  I swear I've seen it a couple of times with no explanations

Cucumber Mohito in the little glass.

The big glass was Alaskan snow crab, langoustine and salmon caviar cocktail.

Sounds like way too much to eventually go wrong.

Agree.... to much electronics and sensitive parts.

A fridge should not be a radio station or TV.

Just get the refrigerating job done.

I understand that no ports were involved? From where did you sail? Any Covid "presence"?

Does a VOIP phone count as a landline?

Remember using carbon paper with the typewriter so you could make a copy
