It's the mega resorts on the strip that depend on air travel that are struggling.

I've programmed my DVR (Direct TV channel 387) to record all new episodes. We watch them later. They aren't new (we haven't seen them), but fun to watch and reminisce. How has your experience been there? Is is sad with no shows and nightlife? The Palazzo was actually closed 😞 along with Treasure Island, Cromwell, And the Mirage. We described the weather as if we were blow drying our face with the hair dryer. lol. it was definitely not the Vegas strip we are used to and we both said if this all continues and there are no shows, nightlife, or shopping, the only way we’ll go back is if we rent a car and go to the Dam and Grand Canyon. Honestly I was bored at night and in bed by 10. oh, and the weed...everywhere...everywhere...including our hotel room floor all the way down the hall. I remember complaining about it when we were there in December, but it seems to have gotten even worse Edited August 28, 2020 by singinalot

Oceansaway17 Posted August 28, 2020 #986 Share Posted August 28, 2020 I watch the love boat show on dvd. Also look at my photos of past cruises last one neing Ovation. I went on ebay and bought new unused hat from Sovereign of the seas. Then sadly looked at photos of her being demolished. Sad because the next ship to join the Turkey ship cemetery will be Carn Fascination which I also sailed on around same time frame.
Milwaukee Eight Posted August 30, 2020 #987 Share Posted August 30, 2020 Today, we did some cone work on our motorcycles, then a long ride to end the weekend. I cooked (smoked) some chicken quarters along with some Potatoes. I was in and out of the pool due to the heat. M8

Wow, I'm so happy to hear someone else watches the show. The reruns are on weekly here and tonight's episode feature Donny Osmond. It's so corny though and we always note how the entire crew would be fired if they worked on a ship today.
DaniDanielle Posted August 30, 2020 #990 Share Posted August 30, 2020 We just got back from our first time back in Atlantic City. Things were definitely different. We were lucky with the weather and had a great meal outside at Gordon Ramsey. At least I had a cosmo that I could drink at the table, otherwise drinks have to be consumed outside or in your room. We came home with more money than we left with so that was good! I think we will wait awhile before we go back though.
Sunshine3601 Posted August 31, 2020 #991 Share Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) We went back to our shore house at LBI. Love my little island. fla gang Posted August 31, 2020 #992 Share Posted August 31, 2020 I can say I live in paradise. 15 minutes to Siesta Beach in Sarasota Florida. Bought an Alexa for dad and mom. Both elderly and on lockdown in an ALF 40 minutes from me. Hard knowing they can't leave their room and go downstairs, but that's the best way for the facility to stay cove free. My mom always says all I want is a hug. I go online almost every day and look at YouTube videos of cruises and then I go look at prices, but then I tell myself I'm not giving them any money until they are up and running and things are working out. Happy Cruising everyone! Someday

singinalot Posted August 31, 2020 #997 Share Posted August 31, 2020 been a busy past week for me. Came back from Vegas on Thursday and drove up to Estes Park on Friday with another friend to visit The Stanley Hotel and Baldpate Inn. We found Baldpate Inn to be far more intriguing! Yesterday I spent a couple hours learning how to use a drone. I’ve been wanting to buy one for our travels but hesitated to make the purchase in case it to would be too much for me, but I’m now hooked and will be purchasing soon.
