You worked for EMI? How fascinating. Tell me more.

I spent 3 years selling the

Classics for Pleasure.

Listen for pleasure(Talking Books) brands.

I was based from home and only visited EMI studio's in Hayes Middlesex (London) a couple of times.

That is great. I'm a big fan of EMI. Lots of great artists went through them.

The staff at the facility she is at have really enjoyed listening to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, Motown, Snoop Dog, RadioHead, Pussy Cat Dolls, Depeche Mode and ....yes....Garth Brooks and several others country super stars.

Needless to say, they are amused by her eclectic taste in music.

Ah, my kind of music!!

Sounds like good music to me.

As an ex rep for EMI records in the early 80s I loved most music including the Beatles,Motown, Country, Bob Dylan and a lot of easy listening music.

Dylan and Sinatra are my all time favorites seen both many times. We also do 70’s music cruises each year , great music and interviews, Micheal McDonald, Boz Scaggs, Air Supply , Jefferson starship , America and others , Peter Asher is host of next year’s show, BJ Thomas was scheduled but he passed recently.

EMI launched one of my all time favorite groups,Renaissance.

In the late 60’s I had a neighbor who owned an American label,KAPE records. He was amazed by my knowledge of music and recommended me to Warner Brothers Records.I worked for them briefly reviewing music.

Thanks Pat.

I got the travel bug at the junior school (up to 11 years of age)

The head teacher was a world traveler and she used to bring photo slides of her travels and put them in a projector and showed us them on a projector screen.

From age 14 we had a yearly foreign holiday usually to the Spanish Costa's or Spanish Islands.

Sounds like a very nice fond memory of her teacher.

My Mother was a school teacher, English and Reading, so with her having off for most of the summer we used to hop in the car and do road trips across the US depending on how much time my Father could get off from work.

We traveled along all coast lines several times and stopped in many other states along our way, still missing some states in the US that maybe I will get to some other day.   My Parents introduced us to cruising about 15 years ago and now we are hooked on sailings and have lots of places to cruise to on our bucket list.

Hi Graham - Thank you for asking. While there have been some faint glimmers of hope here and there, nothing that can be considered "meaningful" or "measurable". Unlike physical injuries where progress in recovery can be measured in weeks, with brain injuries it often takes months for even the smallest sign of improvement. So we continue to sit, wait and pray and give her the time she needs.

I've been on CC sporadically that last few months. My wife would always record our trips in a good, old fashion paper book diary. For our own memories sake.  I take these diaries to her bedside and read them to her. Her words in her handwriting. Yesterday, it was about some of our cruising adventures, hence I find myself back here, reading BirdTravels time on AOS.

And @island lady adventures in Maine. She can be my house finder anytime!

And seeing your beautiful house, gardens and radiant wife always brings a smile to my face @grapau27

That is wonderful that you are able to read her diary of your travels.      How beautiful!    You both remain in our prayers.    Stay strong!

Love Air Supply's "Here I Am" which is reminiscent of Barry Manilow's "Even Now".  I have friends that used to go on annual Rock and Roll cruises, Royal Caribbean out of FL.

So it really was just needing a name that fit. Just like Stephen Foster who decided “Way Down Upon the PeeDee River” wouldn’t work and decided Suwannee would.

I don't know.  I actually kinda like "PeeDee River" 🤣

@HBE4Stay strong and never give up on that glimmer of hope.

Next February will be second time we will see Air Supply on our celebrity rock and romance cruises , what’s cool is many of these artist are on for the whole week and bring there wife’s with them , love the interviews where they talk about how they start etc , many artists like badfinger and Peter Asher talk about working with Dylan and the Beatles. Very common to see them in the bars or suite lounge.

Here at LBI it was a little cloudy this morning and after doing some work online Eric was in the mood to go shopping.   Of course, I took advantage of that mood - LOL!     We went to the original Ron Jon's surf shop down the road in Ship Bottom.

We each bought some new tops, shorts and Eric got some new shoes and new jacket (Rip Curl).    I really like it now I have go back and see if they have one for the ladies.

This afternoon warmed up to be about 72 but rather windy for the beach so we decided to sun bath, read books and nap on the front deck where we can hear the ocean.     Should get back up the 80's by Wednesday or Thursday.

My Brother and his wife left last night as she had to go back to work at the hospital early today.

One of our Sons and his Fiance are coming down either Thursday night or Friday and will stay up thru Father's Day this Sunday.

I came home just as the news was wrapping up. Lisa chimes up, your office is on TV. Just one of those shots as they are about to go to break.

I like Air Supply, too. I think "Just As I Am" might be the song of theirs that I like best.

We have the same day lillies. Almost fully open by our driveway but not yet open by our pool waterfall.  Not sure why there’s a difference. Different sun maybe??

Tell the Air Supply guys they have another fan in Texas.  LOL  I used to go up to the Catskill hotels many, many times.  Bobby Rydell was the headliner once and I walked over to him in one of the lounges, told him how much I loved his music, what it meant to me.  We chatted for quite awhile and he bought me a drink. He was a total gentleman.  I think we make these famous people untouchable in our minds but many/some just want to be treated as "regular" people.  I'm sure there are people in here who will ask "who was Bobby Rydell?" Google is  your friend.

My friend worked in NYC's Plaza Hotel as Front Desk Manager and boy did she have stories!

Went to our Monday night social — car cruise. About 60 cars attend every week. They have plaques for top 4 best cars every week.
Not mentioning any names but the seemed to like the 2006 GTO tonight.  ( 😃).
