Below is DH piggy backing GK2  [video by DS2], and GK1+2 "taking a break" 😁

The video is good.  I like how it starts when you can only see the boy’s head.  Sharon said the boys in the hammock are adorable!  Looks like a great time with family.

Not as long as they keep letting people under 12 aboard. I think RCI forgets who it is aboard that own the credit cards.

I have to smile to think that the 12 year olds and younger may be banned from using the bar stools that cannot do social distancing.  😄

We cruised on grandeur the first cruise after thanksgiving for a couple years too.   Always got me into the holiday spirit watching them decorate.  Our last time on her was sept 2019 that went to bermuda.   Then we went to Washington DC for a couple of days and met up with good friends that live outside of Arlington VA.  Was a great trip!

The first time on the Grandeur I discovered that no elevators go to the Fitness Center.I was not physically able to walk up the stairs. The Hotel Manager overheard me talking about this and suggested an alternative way of attempting to walk up.He said if it did not work he would give me a pass to use the Officers gym.I was able to walk up and down with his suggestion .

We have a very good friend living in Arlington .

Sounds wonderful!

Have a great trip. Keep us posted on your journey. We always drive down and are open to suggestions for midway overnight stops, hotels, etc. We like the Florence area.

Now that we’re retired we usually drive to our oldest DD’s house in PA (about 5 hrs) and spend the night there. Bonus, we get to see our grandsons!  From there we usually stop just south of Savannah, then we can be at our Disney hotel by noonish the next day.  As we’ve gotten older we find that we really can’t do more than a 12-14 hour drive anymore.  And we stop every 2-3 hours for a bathroom break or leg stretch.

So far my favorite ship was Rhapsody.  It was our first cruise out of Galveston and we got to know Derek Lewis in the Schooner Bar, worth the cruise just for his entertainment.  Everywhere we were we had wonderful sea views.  I miss that on larger ships even with a balcony cabin.  I always wanted to do a Radiance cruise but so far never got the chance.  Jack loves the RP so for him Voyager and Liberty are his cup of tea.

Smallest ship for us was Majesty, largest Liberty.  Not sure how I will feel on The Oasis on Friend's of Bella's cruise.  Everyone seems to love it yet so far I seem to prefer a smaller ship.  RP is great for people watching but for me I prefer people watching with the sea in the background.

We always preferred smaller ships.A couple that we met on a 2018 cruise told us that they were going with friends of theirs on the Anthem in 2019 and invited us to join them.We were reluctant because of the size of the ship but were looking forward to meeting “new cruise people” and said that we would gladly join them.We loved the Anthem.

The rooms we rented were in the middle of olive trees.

DH got permission from the owner to harvest what was left in the trees....

I would of loved being there.  The olives 🫒 look really good!  I have never seen an olive tree in person.  Did you take the pic of the path between the trees?  That is a great pic.  Visiting Israel is high on the bucket list.

Brilliance, Serenade, Jewel, Radiance 😁

On my list. Love these smaller ships.

it's cc, not you 😞  I find the only way I can get anything to work properly on cc is using icognito mode on my browser

Thanks.  It was doing that a few weeks ago..then was OK.  Now it's back.

I don't punch the submit reply button again...I patiently wait for it to clear...but still does it on it's own.  Not all the time...but just enough to be annoying.

WooHoo!  That is Awesome!  Go to the casino as soon as they open and cash out that OBC.

Which sailing are you?

I have been seeing some great prices on cruises we were looking at this weekend.

We are sailing in 11 days, 10/2 on Symphony.  If you can join us we would love it.  Prices are great right now.  We have already used some OBC.  Before we pasted on the big slides at Cococay but not this time!  I spend a lot of time on slides on Harmony so this should be fun.  Wish they had an elevator 😂.

‘We also got a internet package.  I am guessing if we win the RoyalUP bid on the GS we will be credited back for the package.

Sharon knows I am getting excited for this cruise and it is making her nervous.  She says what if I test positive. She knows I usually am not that excited until we are flying to the port but it’s been  2 years!

We just love Derek Lewis he played for hours , have his cd and T-shirt (adult day care) , wish rccl would bring him back. Oasis is very interesting lots of people but lots of entertainment, we do allure end of November.

This is the 2nd attempt to post a response.  CC is not cooperating.

Yes, to adult day care!  Derek doesn't perform in smoking venues.  Rhapsody Schooner Bar was no smoking, Voyager pub was no smoking but when Voyager left Galveston and Mariner came in, the pub was not smoke free.  Derek said he doesn't perform in smoke pits and is still missed.  We don't cruise often but we haven't seen a performance to equal Derek's.

Allure is due to homeport in Galveston in November, 2022.  Rates are incredible.  Balcony cabin for less than $800 and that's without C&A discount.  No air fare is a wonderful plus,  However, we're committed to Bella's cruise March 2023.  Too close for us.  We usually book one cruise every 12 months.  That's how we roll.

That totally stinks!  Those aft corner balconies are mega!

Did you switch to another cruise?

To all those who "stray" [sometimes, like me] to Celebrity --

Raising my hand.  I was able to save about $500 on my Edge cruise in February.  That was last week, maybe I should check again.  Of course the price adjustment didn't go as expected.  I think the rep told me it was more like $600 (dummy booking only showed $500 difference).  I didn't receive an updated invoice so after another call and actual receipt I saw the refund was only $400+.  On call #3 the tech said the invoice was correct even though I had the dummy booking up on my screen.  After 45 minutes a revised booking confirmed what I saw on the screen.  Of course I would have preferred to get the $600 the first rep told me but I never saw that price displayed. Getting price adjustments can be hit or miss.  Sometimes the invoice is exactly what you expect and sometimes they manage to revise the pricing but lose the amenities like the OBC.

Noooo, that's DH doing....

I assume "responsibility" only for the 2 short videos, one of them loop side.... 😢

A very interesting fact -- the 4 lines of trees?? All of them were already harvested, bar one.

Also, in front of our room there were 4 trees, 3 harvested, one full of fruit.

The 2 trees not harvested were left like this according to the Jewish faith, to "leave something for the poor"...

DH asked, and received permission, to pick remaining olives ONLY from the already harvested trees.

RV service facility just called us to tell us that we are now pushed to the 28th, versus our appointment on the 23rd.  Ugh...wrong direction on the calendar.  They are claiming staff shortage...which is not surprising...as that is happening with many businesses.  Guess no one wants to work.  😞

And the appointment is just to look at it.  Sigh...not looking good for our trip we were supposed to be on already.

However, still....could be worse.  At least we are home, with the land yacht secured under the covered RV port attached to the house.  We are not stuck in hotel with the land yacht hanging out in a repair parking lot waiting to see an unfamiliar RV doctor.

😮

Need happy hour...need wine!!  😉

Yeah, and we had a killer deal on both legs as well.  Drats.

No...could have switched I guess, but the way things are going, we are simply not booking any more new cruises until things return to a semi normal state (if that is possible)....or at least feel comfortable with starting to cruise again.

Oh well, need to get our home office remodeled...looks like a good time to do it.  Weather is great in Florida in Feb./March.  😉

Now with yet more cancellations just last week (B2B2B Allure for our Fall Med/TA) and no guarantees on the promise of being switched to Wonder which is taking it's place.... we are getting very gun shy.  😮

Can't rely on the Land Yacht...can't rely on cruises not being cancelled.  Yup, rental homes are getting more and more of a sweet deal for us.  At least some trips are working out.  😉

Pat, I agree with no one wants to work. Currently no incentive to, but I won't go there. 🤬

HH does make things better. Agree it could be worse. 🍷

Someone we meet on a couple of rccl cruises and lives in Dallas area was trying to see if we could get Derek in Dallas for a show , he wasn’t successful, I know he also got married since last time we saw him.

My best friend who is a professional entertainer as a solo guitarist and singer said he was amazed how much his voice improved after bars went to no smoking. He also could sing longer hours without getting his lungs tired.
