Starboard Or Port Balcony

Any particular reason why you always choose starboard?

It may depend largely on which side of the ship your very first cabin was. For our very first cruise, many years ago, we booked through a travel agent, and we had an ocean view cabin on the port side. Ever since then, more or less out of habit, we've always had a cabin on the port side. I think most humans are creatures of habit, and tend to automatically book one side or the other without any forethought.

St Thomas has nice views on both sides, in and out.

If memory serves Breeze typically docks at Havensight,

usually on the starboard side.

I think most of us recall that Havensight in St. Thomas

is always a matter of going straight in, no turning, Starboard alongside.

They rotate the ship on the way out!

Never had it different. Has anyone? -and why?

Carnival Breeze - Port Canaveral

Amber Cove

St. Thomas

San Juan

Grand Turk

Amber Cove: Starboard

St. Thomas: Port (most of the time)

San Juan: Good view going in: Port. Good view going out: Starboard

Grand Turk: Port

As others said, flip a coin. No “best” side on this itinerary.

Just had a deck 8 Starboard balcony on Vista. 3 decks above the smoking area on deck 5. If that bothers you, on that ship you would have needed Port side.

Yeah I would have a problem with that. Good to know.
