FIX C&A PROGRAM?

Recommended Posts

and to think.....all this time I thought that over 70 health letter was designed to do exactly this.

Seriously...if they wanted to "thin out the lounges" all they have to do is enforce the rules anyway.

Since everything is in complete disarray anyway, is now the right time for RC to bite the bullet and make substantive changes to the C&A loyalty program/tiers/points/....?  The existing program certainly doesn't seem sustainable - that has been discussed here for years?

What better time to bite the bullet than now?

(Aren't you glad it isn't a tipping thread?)

Why did you put "Fix" in the title? It's not our jobs to bargain for LESS from the company.

Lots of potential new cruisers will have been turned off cruising with the coronavirus.

The way back starts with their most loyal customers and more benefits certainly not less.

Additional benefits for suite passengers who pay the most for their cabins would be appropriate too.

What does one gain by adding a name at 340/350?

Because they want visual recognition at 350/525. At the moment 175 to 699 are all the same.

I'm surprised no has complained about the smaller printing on the sea pass card as it's not as easy to flash.

You have got to kidding!!  With all that is going on right now during this upset of the cruise industry...they should add that to their list of worries and tasks....by taking the time to change the C&A program?   Haven't all of us already had enough upset?

Not even close to being on their radar to do that.

+1.

Good point.

Human nature to want more status everywhere,be it cruising, flying, employment, financial status, property etc etc.

My black Princess Elite loyalty card was well received on our November Hawaiian cruise.

A month or so ago there was a big thread about smaller print on the cards as well as the “conspiracy” to print out the word PLUS vs. using the symbol +

What does the recognition do for them is current benefits are the same?

What’s the D+ perk your looking for?  Would you fill the same after CL’s are eliminated?  What if the Diamond Club was restricted to Pinnacle’s only?

Maybe a little more savings on balcony staterooms. Maybe some reserved seating. We don't use the Diamond Club and wouldn't use the Concierge Lounge either. We don't even use all the free drinks put on our card in lieu of the Diamond Club. So those things aren't of any importance to me. But since I'm approaching the next level I'd like to be able to get there before any changes are made. Because I know that will be the last level I make; we'll never make Pinnacle.

I have always received my C&A points when on a Casino Royale comped or discounted cruise.  I get the standard points and if I upgrade to a suite through CR, i get double suite points.

Thanks, good to know.

Crown and Anchor already has enough headaches. I was greatly surprised when our March 15th to 22nd cruise on Harmony of the Seas was cancelled. A few weeks later we saw the cruise points for a cruise that RCCL cancelled in C&A and a kick to the next level. 2 weeks later the next level was gone but the points were still next level. I do know that C&A has enough to do with just the point and tier system and until that gets fixed I suspect no other changes will show up.

Did any passengers who stayed (ok, who were stuck) onboard longer than their intended sailings because of the virus...get the extra C&A points?  😁

I think some on Freedom's last sailing reported that.

Yes. I should immediately be elevated to Pinnacle status.

Only works if I’m included. 😉

That seems to be the way it is headed already.

You beat me to it. Imagine all the B2B cruisers, like Mario etc, who need a note for every sailing. Even if the note was good for a month they would still miss a few sailings every year to see their doctor. That doesn’t include the folks that can drive home in an hour from the pier, they would have to fly home to their DR or find a doctor in Miami to sign off.

There have been people here who have said if I need a letter I am done, and that was separate of their RC Status level.

Instead of a pin, maybe a forehead stamp

I’d prefer a thermometer attached to their forehead. Once their temp hits 100F they are free to go right to the exclusive lounge, called Medical.

Didn't realize it was broken

Yea, I didn't realize it was broken.

Again, people are gaining points quickly because there are SO MANY cabins available every week.  20 years ago, there were no Quantum, Oasis, or Freedom class ships, and the Voyager ships were just getting built.  So the number of cabins has probably gone up 10x in 20 years (I'm too lazy to do the real math).

Which makes it super easy and inexpensive to get points.

For Royal Caribbean- all that income- how is that a problem?

The only change I would like to see would actually benefit RCI & the C&A members.  Update their website to put back cruising preferences.  Gift, bed arrangement, etc....  IF nothing else it would cut down on the calls to RCI and allow people to maintain their own preferences.  Of course, that's 'assuming' they even pay attention to the preferences.

WOW too much energy on this thread.

With all the layoffs on RCI I am sure this would not be one of their top priorities to fix the program.

But I must say.

I would just hope they would not remove any existing entitlements and return what was taken away  (lol).

It is so hard when any "perk" is removed because it does not benefit the ultimate company hierarchy.

We are two cruises away from D+ (plus), depending what the sea pass will say😉.

We stayed with RCI because we love to cruise, we like the product and it was fun spending money (🤑) chasing the tiers.

But, the new changes announced and still the ones that are kept secret concern me.

The age thingie, I got 7 years to avoid the doctors slip.

But the unknown??????  Come on folks if the current situations label cruise ships as PETRI DISHES waiting to breed germs and sharing them with all on board:   there would have to be concessions to keep the passengers safe, but more importantly for RCI or any cruise company to make money.

Eventually raise the price of cruising so only the rich can sail, and the not so rich only rarely sail.

I mean I can only go to Disney World so much before I go thru cruise withdrawl, and they do not request an Dr. approval Yet.

They already started their attempt to make themselves look good.

Reduce the end of the older age spectrum passengers--remember that old saying (Cruising is for the newlywed and nearly dead).

I guess we could see a lot more of commercials of youngens chasing the cruising scene more and more except for the ones already advertising Coco Cay.

It would be nice to add a level before Pinnacle, to keep the anticipation going, just saying.

Alright

Take care

Stay healthy

Till we cruise again.

No idea why you can't set your own preferences for the welcome back amenities any longer. It is ridiculous to have to call and bother a rep for something we used to easily do ourselves. I'm sure the reps have plenty of other things to do.

I could never understand that either...along with a lot of other "improvements" they made to the RCI website awhile back. 😝  Asked the phone rep one day, as I apologized for having to bother her with the change, why they did not offer that online any longer.  She said it was a mistake they are trying to fix...has been...what a year now?  I have been going to the LA on board for changes when they are not busy.

Even before the Covid-19 thing happened....RCI could not even fix the glitches on the website...certainly not going to fix something that is not broke like the C&A program.  😉
