Can I change my mind?

I don't know the answer, but my question would be the opposite.  If I book a future cruise using the incentives, could I change my mind and later request a refund?   What might the cancelation policy be on that re-booked cruise?    Has anyone had experience with changes like these?

They can't handle the volume they currently have based on refund vs FCC. Interjecting buyer's remorse and one-off scenarios into the equation doesn't sound wise to me. I would be decisive and stand behind my original decision.

I had the same issue on Carnival. called the resolution department around 8:00pm, didn’t wait too long and told the representative my problem. He told me he would get the change taken care of as soon as I paid my deposit on the new booking. Hope you have good luck with Norwegian.

I would be more inclined to take a FCC if it came with some flexibility.  I would not want to book a new cruise for a 2021 sailing with a FCC and have it be non-refundable.    It seems safer to go for the refund - assuming NCL eventually cancels my May 17 cruise.

I spoke with my NCL consultant this afternoon with a question about a TA next spring. During our conversation it came up that even though I had submitted a refund request form on-line for a recently cancelled sailing, I could change it back to FCC prior to receiving the refund. I declined, but said I would consider the FCC for my soon to be cancelled May 16 cruise from Amsterdam. If you have a PCC with NCL, I believe you should contact them. If you don't have a cruise consultant with NCL, contact them and make a connection with one. I hope you can find a helpful contact at NCL. I've been very pleased with my NCL contact and always get a call back whenever I reach out and leave a message.

Good luck, best wishes and stay safe.

If you cancel within guildlines, the payment in which you used goes back to you.  So since that rebooked cruise was not done with a credit card, you would not be eligible to get a credit card refund.

So I take that to mean if I canceled a rebooked cruise, within the normal cancelation guidelines at the time, I would get back the credit to use on yet another cruise, not a refund.   I could live with that.  Thanks for the information.

Be careful.... the expiration of the credit does not extend beyond the original date regardless of when you had that cruise or cancel.

Good point.  Thanks.   Another reason to just go for the refund.    Then I will have the ultimate flexibility on what and when my replacement vacation will be.

If the FCC is currently in your account you can use it even if you filled out the refund form, at least that's what I was told by a casino reservation employee. I was supposed to be on a 4/11 sailing (first wave of canceled sailings) and I filled out the cash refund form on 3/23 the first day it was available. I then wanted to inquiring about a sailing for 2021 and to see if the comp sailing I had could be extended, they were willing to let me rebook the comp sailing as far as March 2021 and apply the FCC from my account even though I had already filled out the cash refund form. According to the representative the cash refund is simply "processing", if you decide to use the FCC before the refund processes then they just cancel the refund request. However I don't think if you wait 90+ days and get the cash refund on your credit card that they would then let you convert that back into a FCC.

@spanishguy1970

We were going to take the Refund but then after speaking to our TA she recommended we take the FCC due to the fact that our insurance will pay if our cruise is canceled for any reason including cruise/airline bankruptcy, so we have nothing to lose.

Make sure you have "any reason" cancellation otherwhise insurance companies may claim the cancellation is due to a continuation of the Corona Virus situation especially if the cruise is later this year.

Did you get a confirmation email for your refund? I asked my TA and he said he didnt get one when he submitted the form. I'm showing FCC credit in MyNCL

Funny thing...I just now received a call from our <former> cruise consultant, and, I explained to him that I did receive an email titled 'Cancellation Request Confirmation', [which confirms that the refund request form was submitted] I never received a follow up email that this email describes as 'a cancellation confirmation e-mail'.

I just noticed on NCL's Covid info that there is now a form to change your request from refund to FCC
