Are they there or on the way to off load crew?

The size of the flotilla has not changed much - few changes in the last month. The only notable additions yet to come are some Carnival ships which set sail from Caribbean 6+ weeks ago and have been dropping crew off along the way (around India now).

Voyager and 19 other ships still hanging out, thought Voyager had already off loaded crew.  NCL Escape on the way, now expected to arrive circa 7/15/20.  Philippines still allowing only a total of 600 passengers to land in Manila every day, flights being diverted to Cebu.

And Ovation is once again heading back having left to sail to Mumbai where she actually docked. Either that or Ovation might join Spectrum closer to China.

You tube has nice video salute of Ovation taking crew home to India including handing model of ship among officers and finally to captain who placed in front of India flag.

You Tube has several great videos of Anthem going thru Suez Canal too.

She's going through again on Monday.

thanks  It was historic.  Only sad that Ovation did not stick around for a couple of more days so that they could meet.

Here is a screen shot from You Tube of Anthem and behind her  the Celebrity Infinity.  Will include a shot someone from the crew took after leaving the Canal into Egypt area

Majesty and Symphony have apparently been converted into “hotels” for crew members who don’t want to go home. These will be the only 2 ships in the company apparently to house non essential crew from the next couple of weeks onwards

Royal Caribbean's airline Wamos is flying in to Barbados now from Madrid.  Flights from Barbados have been flying with some frequency from Barbados to Doha on Qatar Airways.

Wow, I had no idea they owned planes.  I had to google to find out, it's true.  Wamos owns about 10, so there should be no problem getting sick people back home from cruises now that Pullmantur has filed for bankruptcy.  Tripadvisor reviews complained about the food and lack of food, besides lost baggages on a charter flight of all things.  How in the world is that possible since this was in April, 2020?😂

MIAMI and MADRID, May 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE: RCL or "Royal Caribbean") and Madrid-based private equity firm Springwater Capital ("Springwater") today announced an agreement to form a joint venture dedicated to bringing culturally authentic, best-in-class cruise experiences tailored to Spanish and French tourists through the management of the Pullmantur and Croisières de France ("CDF") cruise brands.

As part of the terms of the agreement, RCL will sell a 51 percent stake in Pullmantur and CDF to Springwater.  RCL will have a 49 percent stake, and retain full ownership of the ships and planes currently operated by Pullmantur and CDF, which will be leased into the joint venture. RCL will also provide marine operations servic

The Pt. St. Maarten FB page posted that Indy is there now through Tuesday, dropping off more crew so they can fly home.  You can also get to the link via the PTZTV FB page.

📣Press Release | Two Cruise Ships arrive Sunday for Repatriation of Crew Operations✈️

PORT ST. MAARTEN – On Sunday, July 26, two cruise ships will be in port for the repatriation of their crew to their homelands. The vessels are the Independence of the Seas from Royal Caribbean
International (RCI) and MSC Cruises MSC Armonia.

🛳Both vessels will arrive on Sunday. #IndependenceoftheSeas will depart on Tuesday while #MSCArmonia will depart on Monday.

📌The repatriation of crew will be carried out based on the ports strict “Sterile Port Protocol” that falls under the scope of the Ordinance Public Health which is part of the International Health Regulations as issued by the World Health Organization (WHO).

This protocol ensures public health safety and security at the Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise & Cargo Facilities for all incoming vessels at the port.

🇸🇽Port St. Maarten was chosen due to its strategic location in the Northeastern Caribbean as well as its international connections with airports around the world. As a destination, St. Maarten has displayed its ability to facilitate such repatriation operations safely and efficiently.

🏝The country’s infrastructure such as its homeporting facility and services at Port St. Maarten makes it easy for a cruise ship to have travel documents of crews processed and then taken directly to the Airport to board their international flight.

🔍Additional services such as fuel bunkering and food provisioning, are also available that cruise lines can avail during their port call.

Wow - I cannot believe they are still dealing with getting crew home.   I thought all were home, except those that wished to stay on their "floating hotel" option they offered for crew that didn't feel safe going home.

Perhaps these are the same people, but now things have gotten much better in their home countries.
