Refund Roll Call

Hello fellow cruisers, 

 

I'm also waiting and waiting, would like to add my details to this group please.

 

Cruise date March 22/20 (Sojourn PER-SFO, previously SIN-SFO)

Seabourn cancelled March 13/20

Refund request submitted online March 16/20

Waiting 88 days (?)

Seabourn advised my TA refund processed May 26/20, never received. Now....????

Totally trust my TA, it's in his capable hands.

Seabourn is certainly testing my patience.

Hi everyone,

I thought I’d add our details to this list. Here goes:

 

We were booked on the Ovation, May 23-June 20, 2020, Lisbon to Copenhagen...28 days.

SB booked our airfare and hotels too. Total in $85k. I booked excursions and luggage forward on a separate card ($9k).

In March, as everything started collapsing, we started sensing that this cruise was not going to happen, so I canceled the excursions and luggage forward March 18...luggage forward issued a refund in 2 days, excursions took 3 weeks, only because I contacted Visa and requested a chargeback. 

On April 14th, our cruise was officially canceled. I immediately requested a full refund, we were not interested in an FCC....especially knowing their financial instability (worse now than ever before).

We also contacted Visa to request a chargeback (just to have it on the books) We knew, because of the dollar amount, it was going to be a waiting game. On the same day, I spoke with my SB rep and he told me it would take 60-90 days.

 

The waiting game begins. We are now at day 59 and counting. 


This was to be our third cruise with Seabourn, having had wonderful and stress-free cruises to the Med and Northern Europe.

Who knows what the future cruising world will be, but I am definitely interested when it resumes.....just not sure if Seabourn is going to be our first choice.

Interesting (and frustrating) news.....

   Earlier this week Seabourn told me that my refund had been processed on May 29th.  Since it is two weeks from that date and still no refund according to my cc company, I called Seabourn and spoke with “Frank” who explained that everything that had been processed on May 29th was WRONG and had to be re-processed, which was done on June 10th..... so, according to “Frank”, I should be receiving my refund within a few days..... Today is Day 87 and still counting!!!!

    I’m really happy for all of you who have received their refunds and I truly hope not to enter the “100 Day Plus Club” with those of you who are waiting even longer.  
    Perhaps we should create Tshirts or hats with just a number on it indicating the amount of days from Cancellation to Refund.....

FYI re "Frank's" input...

I'm here at day 88 and very envious of my sister's good fortune... sibling rivalry and all, haha.

She was booked to cruise Sojourn April 29th AKL-SFO, submitted refund request when Seabourn cancelled (well after my 3/22 cruise was cancelled 3/13).

Her refund was processed on May 29th, received by her credit card company June 4th and posted to her credit card June 7th. She happily took the money and ran. My baseball cap is going to boast the number of days til refund and also "It's just not fair." This is truly not the Seabourn I have become accustomed to. Best wishes to all of us!!

I have long stopped believing what the CSRs tell me.

They must have a long sheet of carefully prepared answers/statements that they randomly read from - their answers have zero credibility from my personal experience and from what I am hearing here from others.

Show me the money! 😀

We had a very similar conversation with Seabourn, one of many. We were told one of our refunds was processed on May 28 and that it would be 7-10 days before we see the money. So we waited not-so-patiently until June 11 and called them yet again. We’re were told that our refund was ‘rejected’, implying that we did something wrong. They went on to say it would be processed again this Friday night in a ‘batch run’, whatever that means and it would take another 7-10 days until we see it in our account. No more Mr Nice Guy, I immediately disputed the two refunds that were pending with Chase and canceled our FCDs with Seabourn. We’re right behind you with 83 days.........

Its been a long couple of months.  At least we had this Roll Call to hear everyone's stories. Hoping we all will be complete soon.

Speaking of being complete, the two 2 FCDs that were applied to our cancelled cruise showed up on our United Explorer (Chase) Visa today, dated 5/29.  Had to laugh since earlier in the week when I called, SB told me they were processed on 6/2 so they apparently have "magical accounting" to get refunds to post earlier than they were processed.  LOL  Regardless, that makes a complete refund for the cancelled 5/23 cruise.  Now were down to the two unused FCDs (I requested they be refunded on 3/24) and was told today they were processed on 5/29, meaning they were caught up in the processing error SB had that day and which means they'll be delayed by a few days until we see them.

Jodi and Frank,  Hope you woke up to the the same good news that I received this morning. Full refund received on my cc today. It was issued May 29th (Seabourn "Frank" misled you) and posted June 12th. Thanks to all the group members here, you were my good luck charms. I finally got the courage to post, and my refund showed up the next day.  Fingers crossed that all of you receive your refunds very, very soon!! WE GOT OUR REFUND!!!!!!

I’m doing the Happy Dance 💃

Only took them 88 days......

The funny part is that the amount credited was for ALL monies I paid out in one lump sum...the cruise deposit PLUS the air flights via Flight Ease.  I’m not complaining, though.

For those still waiting....Keep The Faith, Baby.

It will happen.

05/26/20 Chase Dispute Agent manually reprocessed $9640 charge dispute
06/13/20

Credit Cards credited for cruise deposits and FCD charges, with 5/59 processing date

By the way, I will only be updating the spreadsheet for two more week since I will be heading out for a vacation and will not have access to my PC.  Hopefully we will see a lot more action in the coming 12 days.

Finally received a refund for the deposit we put down on a 12/20 cruise. Requested the refund on 3/22. The odd thing is that it hit our card today with a date of May 29. 83 days to refund. I feel lucky to even see the money again. 
 

One refund down, one to go for a trip Seabourn canceled.

JPH:  Thanks so much for the update.  You're the best!  However Seabourn is NOT the best.  We are now near the top of the list of those waiting the longest for a refund.  We are now 90 days on the JPH s/s.  So if  nothing is received by Monday or Tuesday, I will start with a phone call to Seabourn.  Depending on what I learn, the next step will be a call to our terrific TA.  And last resort a claim filed to AmEx.  Not luxury cruising.

tv24, I am same stage as you and this morning, I received the deposit for the second cruise of our two B2Bs.  I am hoping that his means things are moving but find it strange, why just this, why not the cruise before this one?

And it's only £900 out of a total of £18,000 owed!

 

But to see just anything from SB is good, maybe next week will be the week for both of us!
