We're booked on the Freedom on Sept.13. I will be 73 and the wife 71. We are not concerned at all. If it cancels, we simply rebook. If it sails as planned, then great! FunShip special, here I come!  🍹  :classic_laugh:

Here's to those of us that live life, take chances, and have fun. Having said that I won't put others at risk so if the virus trends up we will rethink our trip.

4 day cruise in October sounds quite safe to me. I mean it should be all over by September. There are people craving to go somewhere, to travel, to sail. Maybe you wont have that many co-passangers but I am sure you will enjoy these 4 days being away from all those troubles on shore. Have a great trip my friend!

I ran the idea past my wife.her and her gang of sisters have been going to Vegas on Halloween week to watch the freak shows but she says they are going this year and wasn't too thrilled about cruising either so i'll try again for April.

I just got my new Carnival Players club offers and I can book a, as I like to call a booze cruise, since I live only an hour away from Long Beach I was looking at the 4 day Ensenada and Catalina in October for my Birthday, and I can get $250 OBC drinks on us in the Casino and a few more things for just under $500 for 2 in an oceanview cabin. I'd only be risking $100 for the deposit and I could always cancel and get FCC... just wanted to bounce some thoughts off some fellow CC'ers and see if this quarantine is making me crazy or not...

TIA - Matco

I'm waiting to see how this thing plays out, but with cruise booking up 600% over last year it seems I am in the minority.

My October cruise is six months off. I am not worried. I do know that that a face mask and standing 6 feet apart is a feel good directive that has a wee bit of science that has been built into a wall of liturgy that you must follow blindly as an article of faith.

Hopefully this madness will be over by then.

For me October is still too soon, we booked for next November 2021, hopefully!!! By then this mess is over.

We are booked on the 3 October Panorama cruise out of LB.  CCL says they will start  sailing in early August. Am very interested to see the changes at embark and on board.  Also my only concern is whether or not Mexico will open their border.

I am thinking Mexico will as this pandemic is killing their economy. Places like Cozumel, for one, no one is buying their goods with no ships there. We are all more than ready for this to end. I'm 71 and running out of time. LOL😅

You're not crazy.  We booked for October and November and can't wait.  The chances I'll die from the idiot drivers in my hometown is a lot greater than from a Coronavirus.

AMEN!! We are booked on Galveston/Freedom/OCT 2020 and Galveston/Vista/DEC 2020, along with two others in 2021. We’ve chosen not to live in fear. We love cruising way too much! If these are cancelled, so be it. We’ll sail again. It’s just a matter of time IMO. My TA said she’s covered up in 2021 bookings. Cruise addicts like us are ready to get back out there for sure. The cruising experience will be changed but we are ready.

We booked the Sensation and Magic out of Miami September and October. Both of us will be 56 and intend to have a good time and wash our hands!!! Day 63 of a supposed 14 day quarantine...I think 200 days after the initial start, we should be fine.

It may be sane or crazy to book a cruise in the next 6 months, depends on how one looks at it.

If you are determined to get back to cruising come hell or high water, you might be crazy.  If you booked solely for the lower priced fare or extra OBC, you might be crazy.  If nothing will change your mind about your cruise, you might be crazy.

OTOH, if you booked knowing that if the virus is still around you will cancel or reschedule, you might be sane.  If you booked and find out the on board experience will have drastically changed and isn't to your liking so you'll bail, you might be sane.  If you booked and find out your ports are closed or have so many restrictions it isn't worth getting off the ship so you'll cancel or resched, you might be sane.

I booked a solo cove balcony on the Magic Nov 14 (casino pricing and $500 OBC)  and will sail if our virus environment is stable.  If not, I either lose my $200 deposit or try rescheduling.  We have a "free" Celebrity mid ship infinity balcony on the Edge in December for $219 in port taxes and fees.  Celebrity will allow us to cancel and reschedule to the following year, same ship and offer, if we decide by August 1st not to go this year.

Plenty of upside with possible minor losses in Carnival deposit, otherwise both can be easily dealt with via cancel or rescheduling.  More will be revealed and hopefully the extra info closer to final payment will allow us to make an intelligent decision about sailing.

I don't understand the concept of giving a company that could go bankrupt a $100.00 no interest loan that they will not have to pay back if they do in fact go bankrupt.  Bookings are up 600% over this time last year according to an article I saw so evidently I am in the minority on this one.

We booked a four-day cruise out of San Diego in October.  We won't need to fly, so we thought we'd see how it goes.

We booked the same last night, the offer is too good to pass up, and worst case we reschedule.

My DH, and son and family have booked this cruise as well.  I hope all goes well for all of us and border are wide open.

I can understand that perspective, but isn't that the case with any booking that requires payment upfront (airfare, and some hotels and car rentals)? I'm currently fighting with Air Canada to refund a flight they canceled (service to my city is suspended entirely, so there was no offer of rebooking).
