Still looks rainy today.

Southeast Alaska has had a tremendous amount of rain this year from what I have observed watching this web cam.  More days have been wet than not.  My Alaska citizen Nephew says frequent rain in that area is common.  But, I still think, it's been a rainy year.

The landslide at Haines only seems to confirm my opinion.  That happened because it has been so recently wet.

On this December 7--"adate which will live in infamy'--rain is reighning in  Juneau, AK.

As the rain seems to do in Juneau quite often.

I checked out the Brown Bear Cam yesterday just to see if there was any activity.  The site is now in the "season of re-runs".  Highlight videos of the year's activity were being shown.

I think the bears have gone into hibernation and the Chicago bears are mimicing the wild bears of Alaska.

The sun comes up about 9 AM  Alaskan Time.

It is somewhat of a shock to one's system when I visited my family in Anchorage during Christmas one year.  That first morning, when I woke, it was still dark; I thought I had more time to sleep.  Looking at the clock, it was after 9:00 A. M.!

Anchorage is much farther North than Juneau and so the Sun would come up later and go down sooner.  In Nome, it stays dark for a couple of months.

It the Saturday before Chtistmas and it is dark in Alaska and wet un Juneau.  Meanwhile I went to the Fr. Lauderdale camera--thanks for the limk last June VMax--and it is so strange not to see 7 or 8 cruise ships in Port Everglades.
