My DW and I went to a casino in Louisiana this past weekend. They limited the black jack and table games to 3 per table. Roulette and Craps were 4 per table. Every other slot machine was turned off. They were checking everyone’s temperatures before they entered the casino floor but they were not counting how many people the let in. Definitely more than 25% capacity. All employees wore masks and the ones I interacted with complained the masks were hot and uncomfortable. My guess is only about 10% of patrons wore the mask.

Im not even a slot player and I do this most of the time. I think it's natural reaction

wow that's really wild. What if they were handicapped or something? If people wnat to make non-smoking ocmmunities that's cool but to make it a law, I mean come on. We have bigger problems in society to worry about.

Having a disability doesn't exempt one from a no smoking lease.

Oh look, a smoking thread.

No one here has given a good reason why smoking will be banned because of COVID. Banning smoker is a direct loss of casino revenue. That is a proven fact. There is also no correlation to smoking causing "congregating", and increasing the spread of COVID

Interestingly the Indian owned casinos in Michigan are re-opening as non smoking next week.  I think it is because the employees have to pick up and empty ashtrays that have had direct contact with cigarettes that were in people's mouths.  All the self serve drink stations will be staffed.  I hope the non smoking will hold after the virus.

I went to the island casino in Michigan on May 16th.  They had all the machines on...just moved some chairs away from some machines.   Masks were required to enter, but most people pulled them down once inside.    They also had no smoking.   The self serve soda machines there were not staffed, we could get our own at any time.

I live in Wisconsin and we have one opening on Monday that will be allowing smoking.  I also saw another one in Michigan that is allowing smoking.     Most others in Wisconsin and Michigan are starting as non smoking.

Everybody loves the Casinos on land and cruise ships. Just wish they would do something about the smoking so the non-smokers could really enjoy the fun.

Back to the topic, the Seminole Hard Rock casino in Tampa is open.  Everyone is scanned for temperatures.  You just walk through the scanner.  Everyone has to wear a mask; they give you one if you don't walk in with one.  Inside the VIP room, a lot of masks are off, but on the main floor, about 90% seem to keep their masks on while not drinking or smoking.  Yes, they are allowing smoking in the smoking rooms.  Many machines are shut off, and some of those have the chairs removed.  Table games have only a few seats and plexiglass has been installed.  Table games don't look as fun as they were pre-Covid.
