No cruising out of NYC or NJ until 2021

Recommended Posts

Port website still says cruises beginning in late July.  We're also on TA on Anthem.   Have all our flts but the United ones can be cancelled based on when booked and the flt to London is with points.  Hotel on points.  Will have to wait and see.

According to a press conference held on Thursday in NYC. A spokesperson for the port authority was taking questions from reporters.  A question was asked about when non commercial ports will reopen and someone from the PA standing  by the podium said no passenger ships until 2021 from NY & NJ. 😡

I posted in March that cruising would not resume until 2021 and I had verbal daggers thrown at me on CC.

I have a final payment due on 6/15 for a 9/13 Oasis cruise. I’ll be making final payment and assume they will not cancel until the latest date they can.

Please post the info about no cruises from NY and NJ

Even IF said it doent make it so. Nothing set in stone, things still Changing day to day. Casino's been opening last couple weeks, even Universal Studio's and part's of Disney. Just 4 weeks ago Sky was falling and many assumed these and other's wouldn't open until a Vaccine, which there may never be... Have 35nites Booked in Nov/Dec, it sails I plan on Cruising...

Not really a surprise.  Northern routes are not allowed by Canada.  Florida has restriction for people going and coming from NJ.  So outside of Bermuda, where would they go

Is this a serious question? Ships leave year round from NY on itineraries that do not include Bermuda or Canada.

We are or now were on same cruise & booked because of Barbados.

We love all of the islands on this itinerary and have never been to san juan yet.  Barbados is one of our favorites too!

Now with AstraZeneca possibly having a vaccine as early as september we may still sail.  Fingers and toes crossed!!

Shoot, just saw an ad on TV that a Sandals Resorts opening June 16. Figured some the Islands would open before Ships started sailing. Yesterday read list when these Counties opening to outsiders, many were in the next month. Cruises will have places to go. Even the Michigan Governor is opening almost everything next 10days

I cannot find any official announcement that nj/my port authority will be closed for cruise ships till 2021.  Is there one?

No, it you read the first post, the info comes from 'someone from the Port Authority that was standing by the podium'.  So that doesn't strike me as 'official.'  Not saying they are wrong, but doesn't appear there has been an actual press release on the subject.  Yet.

Not too sure if anyone has any official word.  Im thinking the CDC would make that determination,  then the governor’s Cuomo & Murphy would be the final say in their respective states.  Who really knows,  Still cant get a hair cut in NJ.

Cuomo  does not appear to need a hair cut

Cruises from NJ go as far south as Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, so even Cocoa Cay and Labadee are within reach.

What Royal roundtrip Royal cruises go from Bayonne to the ABC islands?

Sounds like a good chance of that ship getting re routed and the TA not happening, I wouldn't book any air.

Except a lot of us have already booked air for the fall TA's..through Choice Air or not. We are sort of at loose ends about the sailings/airfare or whether they are happening.

None.  Every May a cruise goes from Florida to the ABC islands and then to Cape Liberty, the only way to cruise Aruba and end in NJ.

Is it really worth all the worrying if or not it's going to happen, just lift and shift it to 2021 when hopefully it will be a safer time.

It's just a cruise, won't be the end of world if you don't go. Cut your loses now and try to cancel everything now.

There was one poster after me in March as well. Haven’t seen him here for months.

Good advice.  We moved an October 2020 med cruise to 2021.  Now there's no need to worry about sending any money into the RCCL black hole for a while.  Fortunately we were so busy cruising last winter, we hadn't bought air yet 🙂

We have 10 weeks lodging booked in Florida next winter, doubt we will make final payment on the January/February B2B2B cruise.

we're on Anthems' TA, arriving  in NJ Nov 13. I wonder if they'll just change what port she arrives in. Hope they let me know soon enough for me to change my flights home. I didn't book my homebound flights through Choice Air.

I would not book any flights yet since at this stage it is not clear if the ship will sail in Europe this year and if so, not sure if it will be from Southampton looking at the cases in the UK at this stage.
