I also think the Majestic is great for West Coast cruising because of the indoor pool. It can be very chilly on California Coastals and even Mexican Riviera cruises, so that offers up a swimming option for those kind of days.

Don't see any 28 day round trip Tahiti cruises out of L.A. Any news on those? Thanks.

Mike

I could be wrong but it doesn't seem like there are any of those on Princess in 2021-2022

Princess has already released their Tahiti & French Polynesia program and those 28 dayers are not part of it.

Sister line Holland America has a few of them although of 32 days if that interests you.

It's showing under Hawaii cruises as the destination.

By the way, the B2B Mexico right after it is the lowest price for a 10 day itinerary, and goes up into the Sea of Cortez.

Thanks. Saw this one. We're looking for one beyond that date. Traditionally they have one early in the year and one around October. Did the February cruise earlier this year, and we're hoping to do it again in the near future. Best cruise ever!!

How do the prices look to the rest of you?  It is my feeling that they seem higher than expected.  I do realized, however, that the cruiselines seriously need to make some money, of course!

I don't see the new sailings or sale. Does anyone have better luck?

I looked twice this am, so far only see the cruise listed but no pricing available, says pick another date or come back later.   Will check it out tomorrow.  I definitely want to cancel 2/21 cruise and replace with 1/22... since virus is not going away any time soon.

Thankfully, azbirdmom suggested that I login to Princess and when I did, the new sailings were posted.

Yes, you will only see them if elite and logged in today as today is the elite on sale. As a TA, I have no issue seeing them from the back end. As a customer, thanks to their glitchy website, I can't see pricing when logged in and get the error message (I'm elite so should be able to but have been having this issue for some time) and if I'm not logged in, I can't see pricing as it doesn't recognise me as elite. Luckily, I'm in no hurry to book anything so no biggie for me....

P only does this once or twice per year.  Watch for future Emerald or Star releases.

I logged in last night.  Nothing.  Got up and called Princess at 6 AM...sale started at 9 AM PDT.  I called back at 9 and was on my computer.  I could "see" the itinerary but you actually have to call in to make a booking.  Dates are available only for Elite today.

Warning:  Princess rep attached my (canceled cruise) FCC to a cruise in 2022.  I had to ask her to release that credit.  That's a really long time to have my $$$ tied up.  Not a problem.  Easily reversed.

Just my 2 cents here, but I wager that Princess won't proceed with the 28-day Tahiti sailings for the '21-'22 deployment season. These are some of the reasons for my thoughts:

- In January of this year, news already came out from Bora Bora, one of the most popular Pacific island destinations, that they were aiming to basically ban large cruise ships that are the norm today, beginning in 2022, which would apply to this deployment season. [Link 1] [Link 2]

- At the onset of the coronavirus outbreak (not yet declared a major pandemic), the islands had already begun taking precautions to protect their residents and closed their ports/prevented ships from docking or debarking (such as Emerald Princess' February 1, 2020 28-day voyage). Similar actions were more widely reported in the Caribbean (Jamaica, Mexico). This isn't to say that the islands' hospital infrastructure won't improve by then, but it does show that the islands are rightfully worried about any devastating outbreaks among their residents. The Emerald trip ultimately had a more Hawaii-intensive trip, but that would take out the allure of the trip for some, especially when Princess markets it and in contrast to their existing 15-day West Coast-Hawaii trips.

- Adding onto the point above, the measles outbreaks in Tonga and Samoa already placed the islands in high gear and were also part of the reason why some ships weren't stopping (I believe this also applies to Emerald's Feb. 1, 2020 voyage). Large-scale tourism to the islands will be sacrificed to maintain safety here.

- Princess will have the same amount of ships by fall 2021 (Golden v Enchanted, Star v Discovery), but much less flexibility with their deployments, considering these new ships' sizes. With Golden and Star gone from the West Coast, something else has to give in their existing deployments. I predict Emerald or Crown will be the main ship making Panama Canal transits in the '21-'22 season, but if either of them did some 28-day trips, they would be sacrificing some Panama Canal trips. If Princess were to try to have Caribbean Princess fill-in for these now-sacrificed Canal trips, then they would be sacrificing something else in the Caribbean (such as the frequency of their 7-day jaunts, which seems to be their meat and potatoes in Princess' primary market). So it might not be as black and white as I've painted the situation, but I'm not so sure Princess is going to differ from their traditionally large breadth of Caribbean offerings. In reference to the first point I brought up about the big cruise ships, this is also why I think Pacific Princess is specifically homeported in Tahiti for '21-'22 to fill the niche of the Pacific islands.

- Lastly, some health officials and analysts have suggested cruises that are shorter and include less stops will be better for reducing the likelihood of cruise passengers and destinations' residents from getting sick. This might be more applicable for the upcoming '20-'21 season, but I still think the philosophy might carry through, at least, for '21-'22. The best counterargument to this will be what Princess has done for the Australia seasons, which often includes long circumnavigation sailings and island sailings. We'll see what they do for Australia for '21-'22.

I will happily eat my words, though, if they do bring it back, because I know they have a big fan base and it would be nice to keep those experiences going for the future.

Was able to book our 10 day Mexico on the grand for dec 5 2021 in balcony.  Had no issues doing it online or via phone.  I noticed that some cabin classes were showing not available online, so if wanted a mini suite would have had to call.  I called anyway due to needing to move deposits from other cruises.  Cancelled the same cruise on the emerald for dec 2020.  The total price for the new cruise same cabin class was 430 less per person due to casino offering.  However, even without the casino rate, the price was exactly the same as the 2020.

That PDF has the exact same information as the spreadsheet!

By the way what is the NCF column?

Yes, someone wasn't able to open the spreadsheet so I posted as a PDF. The NCF is the amount of the fare that TAs don't earn commission on.

I found the spreadsheet very helpful.  Thanks again for posting it.

I was able to see that the 10 night Mexico itinerary Mr. pcur and I love was not only the lowest price next April, but also immediately followed the Hawaii / Tahiti cruise.  Those two b2b are a fabulous itinerary, so we added Mexico.  The similar itinerary as a segment of their world cruise is much more expensive.

I checked several times yesterday for the Coastals, and they finally showed up on Princess with prices about mid-day.  It took another 2-3 hours for my Big Box TA to show them.

Hi,

I'm glad that the Majestic Princess is scheduled to sail from U.S. ports beginning next year. I have cruised aboard the other Royal class ships (Royal, Regal and Sky), but never the Majestic. This should give me a convenient opportunity to try this ship. As mentioned above, I wonder if any modifications will be made to the Majestic before entering the U.S. market.

Never thought I'd do it, but booked Grand today for '22.

Let me explain, we are Travis alumni having sailed Grand on February 21st.  It was our 6th sailing on the vessel, our #1 favorite in the fleet.  Still, 5 days confined to our beloved Window Suite and 14 days at Travis AFB left a sick feeling in our stomach.

Yet, the Sea of Cortez sailing is a favorite of ours and Grand is doing those in the deployment just released.  We talked about it for days.  Could we walk up that gangway again?  Would there be a dark cloud of less than positive memories tagging along.  What about our WS, could we ever trust it again, could we ever love it as much as we had in the past?  We decided to forgive Grand, after all, it wasn't her fault illness found it's way aboard.  We couldn't look forward to our WS again though, we booked something with a balcony "just in case".  I think our days of inside, obstructed and WS cabins are likely behind us.

Anyway, Grand ole girl, we'll see you again, come February '22.

I was hoping you would have chosen the Grand to Hawaii....I will miss you, once again. I am hoping cruising will settle down.  So far, I have lost three sailings.

Wondering those of you who have booked the Grand for 2022... were you able to select a specific cabin?  Deck plan not showing for the 1/31/22 sailing.  Plan to call Princess, I only like to book with a designated cabin, wonder why on line not allowing one to select cabin, like they have in the past.
