If you could never cruise again, what would you do in place of it?

I was just wondering about that last night, where to put the litter box – – – good idea!

That was one of the things we looked for as mandatory in design, when we bought this last motor home.  It was a new floor plan for Fleetwood, got it fresh from the factory!  🙂

Yeah, going through cruise withdrawal big time. ☹️ Have had two HM cruises  cancelled -- April 19 and Aug. 23.  Now wondering whether December 6 will sail.  It's depressing.  I think we may go to a Hilton Head hotel or see if we can get a timeshare next month.  Everything is 30% capacity and many people are cooking in their timeshares or doing takeout from restaurants.  SC numbers have been going up.  Our county is up and down.  My boss, a state Senator, is on Accelerate SC and has been getting testing events that are mobbed.

I forgot you are also on Harmony 12/6...if it goes...we are going.  Maybe see you there?  🙂 But can't imagine anyone recognizing anyone with all our masks on.  😮

Spent a week in full kitchen, 2/2 with washer dryer time share week mid June (needed to use up credit from cancelled Hawaiian stay).    It was on the beach in Jensen Beach.  Indeed just like home...but with a different view.  😄

we lived in a planned community that requires any RV’s to be in enclosed garages (our home isn’t set up for one currently) - so looks like locally it’s about $100 mo parking for it, new truck, new RV, insurance, anything I am missing? OY! 😂

Of course we now have so many cruises booked and shifted to 2021 we have to figure out how to manage that much time off from what we do for a living so we likely should do an RC in 2022 😳

We are in gated community as well, but it is RV friendly.  Planned out separate areas from simple concrete pads and storage sheds, to full size mansions in the "ritzy" area.  Those have enclosed RV garages with AC.  😉

Ours is a smaller house area, but the RV port attached to the house (covered with roof and enclosed 2 sides) is open on the front end.  Our land yacht sits in there with hook ups (keeping the A/C on in the Coach).  Very convenient to transfer stuff in and out of the house.

Have you seen that commercial with that woman cutting down someone's plants and mailbox? That would be ours! Build a fence, cut down a tree, get permission (maybe). 💁‍♀️

No....have not seen it.  Probably pretty funny though.  Yikes!

OK...yup, I found it.  Sooo funny.  Fortunately not as bad in my community...though they do try.  😄

I actually lived in one that was worse. Had me repaint the small portal decoration on my house before I closed on it after selling.... egads. There was an episode of X-Files on such a community, wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry watching it. I think perhaps the next time we need 20 acres somewhere!

though I am still not a fan of driving long distances....but just to get out for awhile...we enjoyed a week of car "cruising" up the coast of Florida doing the A1A "crawl" up to Jekyll island.

I guess everyone is different  😀    Some people actually like driving.  When I had to travel, I would regularly visit a particular city by air.  Once I asked the travel dept if I could simply drive.  It's six hours one way.  They said sure, it'd save the company a lot of money.  Did that for years.

I'm just not quite up to driving an RV.  It seems like a good fit for me, maybe someday I'll give it a try.

Looking to travel around the Philippines, been to 10 of the over 7,000 islands.  Planning for the winter of 2022-2023.  Saving and resting until then, hopefully COVID19 about finished by then.

We might do more escorted land tours.  We did one through Italy in 2006 with Insight Tours and it was amazing.  Although, the repack your suitcase every 2 nights gets old, lol.  It is nice not to have to drive and have someone arrange everything for you.  We went right into the Vatican to see the Sistine Chapel, right into the Colosseum and also in to see Michelangelo's statue of David, etc.  These would  be long lines to the everyday tourist.  Our group was the best and we spent the whole trip laughing.  I suppose we were very lucky.

I agree. We started cruising in 1993 and ended in March 2020. I'm mean ended.  Cruising has changed so much.   Maybe it is the people, maybe the cruise line nickel and dimeing us now.  Don't know.  The class just is not there anymore.  So it's land travel, enjoying our home more, volunteering more or putting in a pool,  whatever, how blessed we are to be able to make these choices.  💛

I live 10 minutes from a beautiful beach but the last time I was on a beach in NY was 1976 and the last time that I was a beach lover was 1960.

The ocean, wave action fascinate and soothe me. Lakes, mountains don't do it. The only river I saw that absolutely mesmerized me was the Niagra, when years ago we visited the Falls. (I haven't seen many rivers.)

I am not a water person. We live in a condo that has 3 outdoor pools.I have never been in any.The last time I was in a pool was 1983 and prior to that 1959.

The only water that I enjoy is the shower.

A nice hot shower is hard to beat! (I spent time in other countries with no hot water, and at times no running water for a few days. It puts things into perspective .)

I"m a nurse at a large hospital.   I have to report if I leave the state due to Covid.

I do think it's not really fair.  I'm perfectly capable of self monitoring or am willing to be tested upon our return.   We can go to Houston which is an even hotter spot then Dallas and not report it.  They can't tell us we can't leave the state of course. But they can tell us we can't return to work for 2 weeks after we return.  And that quarantine time is on us, either PTO or no pay. They will not test us to clear us.  A few have not self reported but if you're caught it could be grounds for termination.  Since I dont want to "waste" 2 weeks of PTO i just won't leave the state.

My wife too is a nurse, when we go to our summer home in Wisconsin she has to report and self monitor for two weeks too. She could have retired last year, but won’t due to the pandemic and need for healthcare worker.
Thank you for you hard work, in a very trying profession.
