molme Posted July 7, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2020 We have taken 25 Carnival cruises and I tried to talk to someone at Carnival today about the Milestone cruise reward. I know when thy came out with this several years ago that when you reached your 25th cruise you were eligible for a 25% discount on any up coming cruise. The lady I talked to didn't know anything about Milestone cruises. She called the Milestone department and they told her we would get 25% of our fare back in on-board credit. I thought it was 25% off your cruise fare. Can anyone help me with this question.

When my hubby and I did this we both took it so had well over $1k.. Make sure you use it on an expensive cruise (we did a Panama Canal cruise). We did the casino trick to get cash back for what we did not think we would spend.

Just to clarify a little bit further, it's 25% of the base cruise fare of the person claiming the reward, not counting port taxes and fees. If both in the cabin are eligible both can claim it.
GLCM GUY Posted July 7, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2020 My wife and I have used both the 25 and 50 Milestone awards. We separated them because we are West Coast cruisers and typically do the seven day Mexican Riviera itinerary. The Milestone desk at CCL is most helpful.
molme Posted July 7, 2020 Author #5 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Thanks for the speedy reply. WE will have almost $1,000 in on board credit. Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that we get to sail.

Did something change in the approximately one hour between your posts? Did you specifically request for the OBC to be applied to the cruise you are talking about?

I thought it was 25% off your cruise fare. Can anyone help me with this question. On our 25th I did not even know about Milestone. At the bar, the bar tender noticed the Diamond card with 25 on it. He asked if I received the 25% off. I went to customer service and they gave me and my wife 25% of the base fare in OBC. Our Jan 2021 cruise will be our 50th. When I called about ti I was told the next cruise the 51st I can receive the 50%. I must call 2 weeks in advance to receive it. So, remembering what happened on the 25th. I called again. This time I was told my wife and I must take it on the same cruise. She sad I can take it on the 50th. Went to Carnival on Facebook and posted my concern. A few days later I received a call from the milestone supervisor. I was correct. You can take it on the 50th cruise as I am sure you can do with your 25th. Your mile stone and your wife's are separate. You and her can take them anytime on any ship you want. You receive that off of the base price of the cruise, before tax and port charges or anything else. It is given in OBC. You can use it for anything you wish. She was kind enough to give me here contact number to call her when I am ready. Wonder if she is still there?

TinyG Posted July 10, 2020 #10 Share Posted July 10, 2020 I have applied my 25th Milestone for the October 31, 2020 Panorama cruise. If this is canceled or I cancel it, does it go away? Am I stuck since I applied it to a cruise?

We had to do that a few years ago for my 25th cruise OBC when we had to cancel a cruise on short notice. We ended up moving it to an 8 day cruise several months later. We had a few 3 day cruises before then, but that wouldn’t have been a wise use of the OBC.
