May,

Well, not knowing about "ignore user" makes you a better person than I(not a high bar.)

As to the tomahawk, yes it's purely aesthetic.  The butcher leaves another 6 to 8 inches off the rib bone  from a rib eye steak still attached.  It's pretty much a summer on the grill thing.  Think Fred Flintstone(um, me like fire!)  I was just tickled that I could get the bone engraved.  Imagine a steak for two plopped on the table with a bone in that read "Chez Kens."

Hey, a cook can dream.

Aside from the fact the day when I could eat a whole steak that size are long gone, the thing that puzzles me about them is why anyone would pay for 8 inches of bare rib bone??? Especially at the price of beef these days, at least here in Canada!😲

Where do I reserve my spot at the table? 🥩

Does Chez Kenz have an app?

Your invites in the mail!

No app, no QR codes, menus on stone tablets (we sandblast them between uses.)

STILL no bratwurst.

OTOH, I've discovered my local merchant has a very flavorful chicken with white wine and garlic sausage.

Then it hit me: it's a conspiracy by Big Chicken (AKA the Deep Cluck.)

Yep, that has to be it.

Today's sunrise is from my 2019 Blount Cruise from Rhode Island to Quebec.  On July 28 the Grande Caribe was on the lower St. Lawrence River:

Today's sunrise really is today.  It's from the Crystal Serenity Panomax camera with the ship visiting Long Island in the Bahamas.

I do not have a photo for July 30 so I am going to July 25, 2005 and my multimodal trip from Yellowknife to Chicago and home.  On July 25 I was on Blount's Grande Caribe cruising the Great Lakes from Duluth, stopping for the day in Munsing, Michigan:

Today's sunrise is from my 2010 Blount cruise from Rhode Island to Quebec.  It was taken from the Grande Caribe before disembarking in Quebec:

I don't have a sunrise for August 2 so I am going to August 7.  It's from my 2008 Rovos trip Dar Es Salaam to Cape Town.  Dreading the idea of a long flight home from Cape Town I only flew as far as London and returned the rest of the way on QM2.  This is the sun coming up from QM2 as we were about to dock in Brooklyn:

Today's sunrise is from my 2016 Crystal Serenity Northwest Passage trip. On August 3 I was on Amtrak's Empire Builder in New York headed for the Pacific:

Fine, go on your "world cruise"

or is it a "grand voyage?"

Me?  I'm joining the Rebel Alliance:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/star-wars-galactic-starcruiser/overview/

Or maybe I'll take the easy way out and open Chez Darth's (motto: "I find your lack of faith (in my food)...disturbing.")

PS: this adventure is pre-AI.  Back to signing chits.

Yes sign me up - for both the Chez Darth and the Rebel Alliance. But if I don't see verification of Chewbacca's full vaccination and indoor masking then I am afraid I will have to cancel.

Eh, all infections get tangled up in his lustrous coat.

Good point.  And with that force stuff, he was very good at social distancing.  Very responsible, from a certain point of view.

Well you are certainly right on that! I hope that his ventilation is 100% pure.

Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Grand Alaska/Panama trip, starting with a Cruise/Land/Cruise in Alaska on Holland America and continuing to the Panama Canal out of San Francisco on the Crystal Symphony.  On August 8 I was on MS Westerdam approaching Vancouver and the end of the Holland America segment:

For August 6 I have a sunset rather than a sunrise.  It's from my 2016 trip that culminated in the Crystal Serenity Northwest Passage cruise.  On August 6 I boarded the Alaska ferry Kennicott in Bellingham and was headed to the Inside Passage:
