Effective 7/22 - ( no time period stated for re-opening ) - guess those Eastern Caribbean cruises are on hold , as if they weren't already

Wow ... looks like nobody really wants Americans to visit their ports of call.

They are welcoming in Canadians.  Not looking to go to Bahamas this time of year however.

There is another promo from Barbados where you can get in and work remote for a year.  Perhaps other islands will follow suit.

Nice to know Canadians are welcome. As businesses all over have suffered so much, I for one plan on spending my vacation money in Canada this year.

Agreed - maybe Canada will buy some of the ships for sale, flag them, and then sail them where it wants to ... effectively ending all

Princess ships sailing out of the USA to Alaska needing that foreign stop in Canada ?

gonna be a cold-ass winter for all the K-nuck snowbirds who can't drive down to the USA / FLORIDA, eh ?

No problem. Flights are available and there will be lots of late model cars from estate sales.

We'll make it work, no worries.

It may be cold but that is better than being in a Florida hospital with co-vid.

We are staying up in cold Canada until a vaccine is developed.   Travelling within our own province of Ontario. Our Premier will put the brakes on any re-openings should our numbers creep up too high.  Today was a bad day with 203 new infections out of a province of 14 million.  Blaming the young and their parties.  They just do not realize that they may be somewhat invincible but their parents and grandparents are not.  Same thing in the US I see.  What will it take to get these people to lay low for another few months.  Oh.

Florida's population is about 21 million, 50% more than your province. In proportion, their equivalent of a bad day there would be 203 * 1.5 = 305 new infections.  But they have been having around 10,000 new infections each day recently, each being a very, very, very, very, very bad day.

The province of Ontario is seriously looking at slowing down reopening in the three regions where the cases have spiked.  (Our idea of a spike is going from 100 new cases a day to 203 new cases a day.). In order for Ontario to move to stage three of reopening, we had to have less than 200 cases a day for more than 2 weeks.  If the new cases per day stay over 200, we may be moving back to stage 2.  We hope the government will react quickly to any sharp increase in new cases, until it is under the acceptable limits.

Our friends who regularly spend 5 months during winter in Florida every year are not going to risk it this year even if the border were to fully reopen.  They are planning to enjoy winter on Vancouver Island or in the British Columbia interior.  Definitely not as warm as Florida, but not as dangerous either.

I can’t see how cruising could ever return in a state that is having 10,000 new cases every day.  It would be impossible to get to a ship without being exposed to the virus multiple times.  As travel starts up again, many borders may remain closed until the new infection numbers have come way down.

Bahamas had never been our choice before (nothing to do or see) and if American is not welcome there, the ship(s) can replace it with one of their privately own island (as a beach day), we are good with that.

There are not people running all over with the corona!  LOL!  Most people are wearing masks except for a bunch of dummies in S. Florida, where the majority of the problem is.
BTW, we would rather people from other place do not come down rightn now.
Oh, and have you noticed that California has just surpassed New York in the number of cases?  I guess no cruising from there either.

Except their private island is in the Bahamas.
