CL/SL future when cruising returns.

It looks like Polly is suggesting a new future for CL/SL and how it could affect Suite passengers in future if only Loyalty Lounges were available.

What good is a suggestion on CC?  I still think calling this a CL/SL thread is misleading. They are two different lounges and I’m pretty sure Royal was eliminating them (CL) prior to COVID19.

I personally think it would be easier to just eliminate D+ level altogether. That would eliminate most of the complaining, how many drinks on SeaPass, more wine in rooms, better choice of wine/alcohol, which lounge to use and so on. 😇

You don’t think Suites are spending the same or more onboard in your “extras” description?  Drink Packages, Internet, Excursions (Royal), Speciality Restaurants, Park West, Casino, Spa and Gift Shops?

How many suites guest already get quite a few of those perks?

We only sail in GS suites (or higher) on Oasis class.  Free internet..free HH drinks in SL, beer and wine with lunch in CK, beer, wine, water and soda all day in SL...free access to CK, etc.    Now if you go Star class...yeah...even more perks galore.  But....you already know that.  😉

Me, I won't go into the casino (smoke) I don't need more crap for the house, do our own things in ports, and too old for a spa treatment to matter much any longer.  😊

Exactly...more time spent on board...more opportunities for money spent on board.  😉

Now...if we can just GET on board at some point...would love to use some of that retirement money!!  😮

That would be fantastic.

Happy special birthday to Bucky too.

We would do well with that but obviously Royal don't think it would work or they would introduce it.

1 extra point for spending over $1000 per week during your cruise would be interesting.

The sheer number of Diamond and higher loyalty shows they have it right with C&A to get points its only the points per tier has overwhelmed them as 80 points to make Diamond has shown.

The biggest point right there...."Loyalty".    Bringing back a captured group of pax...a lot cheaper than trying to drum up business from newbies.   And of course loyalty programs are huge in many businesses trying to hang on to their customers.  Make it worthwhile to be loyal...they will come.

And right now...they are going to need all the loyal passengers they can get when (and if?) cruising starts up again.

Maybe someone is paid by RC to read these social media messages for ideas.

I wrote on here we had 1 woman cabin steward in 47 cruises.

Since then we have had 6 women cabin stewards in our last 7 cruises.

Loyalty programs like C&A have “Perks”. Suites have amenities that come with booking a suite.

Most of the alcohol served from the Diamond list is junk. Many of the wines can be bought locally at a grocery store.

Wait, I'm a D+.......have you heard me complain at all about drinks? No, cause I enjoy them. Ha! Anyway, as Prime, I get a few more while playing in the cash-sino......

You really think “if” ships sail at less than half capacity, they will have trouble selling those cabins?

I don’t

CL for D+,P and Suites.

Soon only P and suites.

SL for P and Suites.

Same denominator so not misleading imo as OP.

Doesn’t it seem to you it’s mostly D+ complaining and wanting more or want Pinnacle perks?

Thanks Graham...and good memory!  Bought new Tumi (I love that brand) suitcases for our trip to Alaska  coming up on the 1st...sigh...was hoping to enjoy spending some time at our favorite half circle bar in the CL on Radiance...so much for that.  😞   CL on Radiance series is our favorite!!  🤗

My sentiments too.

Until confidence in cruising returns loyalty will be the buzz word.

Newbie's will only see ships as a breeding ground for viruses and if I was a newbie I wouldn't go near a ship.

It's hard to tell whether it's D's or D+'s, but since I've cruised four times in the past three years in a GS on an Oasis class ship, I sure like those perks better. Ha! Now, do I deserve the same perks since the other eight times I was in a standard balcony room just because I'm D+? No, I think not.....but, I do deserve what is promised to me and not have it taken away. Correct?

You think loyalty gives you a protection against COVID19. 😇

Make sure you check up on those promises. I know for sure Royal PROMISES to follow Terms and Conditions #21 of perks in the C&A program. It’s a good read.

I see it as the opposite.

Regular cruisers should know better than to return to the floating petri dishes to soon.

It's the newbies who don't know what they are getting into that will flock

Oh, they can change anytime they want, they've proved that........but, the changes have not effected me yet, so business as usual. Trust me, I'll let you know when something bothers me. Lol!

I get it. People love the C&A program except for #21 T&C’s. Lol

Spent 12 years in the wine business as distributor.  When I would teach wine classes to the waiters for my restaurant customers, the shy and timid young waiters were intimidated by me at first.  I got their approval, getting them to relax, when I told them I used to drink Boones Farm wine when I was their age, then graduated to "jug wine" from Gallo, before I learned to appreciate a truly good wine.  I was now a member of their club.  😉

Bottom line is the golden rule of wine  "The best wine...is the wine you like the best".  Just because a wine drinker has a higher palate level than others...does not make it the only wine everyone has to drink.  And of course I had changed my taste for Boones Farm over the years as I grew older.  😉

Not everyone is a wine snob.  And not everyone drinks the hard liquor.
