Question for those who have cruises cancelled with OBC promos

Recommended Posts

Can you tell me if you book a cruise with a non refundable deposit and a promo of $500 obc and Carnival cancels the cruise, do you still get to forward that OBC to a future cruise? We have a Feb 2021 cruise booked, not paid in full yet, and I’m wonder how Carnival has handled all of your cancellations. The OBC is really what pushed me to book.

Thanks for any info!! I’m just trying to be prepared just in case.

Here is what happened to us. The cruises that were cancelled that we had OBC funded by FCC were sent back to FCC. The OBC that was offered on that cruise we lost. We received OBC  offered on the next booking. The OBC did not carry to the next booking.

Our Sept. Breeze cruise was cancelled and we had $1,000 in OBC, a non-refundable deposit and $250 in casino fun play for me. We booked a cruise on the Liberty last week, paid a $198 deposit, and 2 days ago I spoke with a Carnival casino promotions agent who actually removed the Breeze cruise from my account (it wasn't automatically removed after cancellation) and moved the FCC and OBC to the Liberty. I lost the $1,000 Breeze OBC and received the $600 OBC from Option 1 of the cancellation offer. The Liberty has $200 in casino fun play for me. We had booked an Ocean Suite on the Liberty and the FCC from the Breeze paid for all of it plus another $30 was added to the $600 OBC. So, the whole Liberty cruise with an Ocean Suite only cost us $198 out of pocket.

My September Panorama 7-day cruise was cancelled.  It was a casino offer with a $200 OBC, basically the deposit I paid. It was a free balcony cruise.  When I called Carnival, the rep transferred 100% of what I had paid in full (cruise rate, port fees, deposit, prepaid gratuities, etc.) over to my already booked (not paid in full) February 2021 cruise.

Then she transferred me to a casino agent who applied and posted a $600 FCC, plus applied the cancelled cruise $200 OBC as a payment/credit.  So in my case, the OBC was transferred over.

Credits/Coupons: $200

Payments Received: $641.04

Total Payments/Credits:  841.04

OBC: $600
