Just point me towards the gang plank....I am under a mandate to wear a mask at all times unless I am in my house or my car....I would much rather be on board a ship, than trapped in my home.

Why would you be trapped in your house? Unless you are talking about being quarantined and this thread isn't about being quarantined (trapped). But since you brought it up. We would rather be quarantined (trapped as you put it) in our own home than on a cruise ship.

No.

The mask thing just seems sort of counter-intuitive for a cruise ship scenario where people will be removing their masks to eat or drink, and to go swimming. Like do you wear a mask in a hot tub? Can you sit in a hot tub with strangers? Can you share a dining table with strangers? The mask is really the last of my worries - I'm having difficulty envisioning how people could maintain social distance on a cruise ship.

Would you really go on a cruise where you were required to wear a mask anytime out of your cabin including ports?

Absolutely not.

In my opinion a cruise should be for enjoyment and I could not wearing a mask.

Remember, as long as the cruise line cancels your cruise(s) you booked with NRD before your final payment, you will get back 100% of the NRD if you elect the cash refund.

Unless something has recently changed, you can get 100% of your money back  with a NRD after final payment as long as the cruise has been cancelled.

That's correct. Thanks. I should have reread and edited my post.

No!

I wouldn’t find it enjoyable not one bit.

If Royal paid me to go on a cruise with masks & social distancing, I still wouldn’t go.  How the hell could you enjoy that experience?!  Imagine if an outbreak occurred!  No chance whatsoever of feeling safe & relaxed.

I’ll wait for the vaccine.......... thank you very much.

I maybe would be willing to, but even while grocery shopping with mask, I get sort of oxygen deprived and have to pull it down and take some deep breaths once in a while. Anybody else experience something similar?

I would recommend trying different types of masks. They are not all equal. I found the washable cloth ones to be less comfy and harder to breath through.

In all seriousness, that’s more likely to be some sort of mental claustrophobia than a problem with not enough oxygen being able to pass through the mask. That doesn’t make it any less real, but sometimes understanding the problem helps to deal with it.

Oh yes- I did already cruise wearing a mask when required. Three see days- fine food- relaxing- away from home and a change of sceene- that is was it was- and I enjoyed it immensley. I loved beeing on a ship usually carrying 3000 passenger, now sailing only with 1100 or so.

Of course not made for everyone- since there was no shore excursion allowed. The cruise line ( TUI- CRUISES) did an excellent job of keeping us safe and entertained. I did a " Live from ..." on the X board.

Yes. Safety first. Until a vaccine or cure is in place, we will probably wear one anyway. It’s no big deal and as said earlier, safety first

If you really mean safety first then you would probably stay off the ships. They won't be requiring people to wear masks because there is nothing to worry about.

Yes without hesitation. I wear a mask any time I leave the house these days and it has gotten to the point that I don’t even notice it most of the time. I live in Florida where it is in the 90s every day with lots of humidity most days and I have no issue wearing it outside.

To those responding no, I think it will be years at a minimum before any cruise line departs from a US port without some kind of mask requirement.

I have been wearing a mask every day, all day, 10 hour shifts since I returned to work. Yes, I can tolerate it but on vacation. I would rather sit at a beach social distancing enjoying my day not wearing a mask. The only place on a cruise ship that I wouldn't mind wearing a mask is in the smokey casino.  I may continue that practice even after is pandemic is over. I'm not considering a cruise until things are back to normal. If this is the new normal then count me out. I would rather book an Airbnb.

There is a big difference between safety first and total fear. If you drive a car, you understand safety first without fear.

Right. If you are so concerned about your satety from this virus that everyone needs to cover their faces  then you won't be doing something so non-essential as taking a cruise. You really equate a cruise with 5000 other people required to wear masks to help protect themselves from one another to driving your car with, maybe, one or two other prople in it to get somewhere that you need to go to?

As for fear, the only thing I worry about is getting quarantined for taking a cruise. I get up and go to work everyday where I an exposed to infectious diseases. It doesn't scare me in the least.

Italy has today lifted the ban on cruise ships and MSC and Costa are almost ready to go.

To go almost anywhere you would have to wear a mask aside from your car.

To eat at a restaurant you have to wear a mask until you are seated.

To get a haircut, buy a sandwich or go to a Walmart you need a mask.

If I have to wear a mask for the 15 minutes it takes me to check in at Cape Liberty and the additional time to get to an area that will have to be changed to allow social distancing as stated by RCCL with up to 50% less passengers until my veranda and cabin are ready NO PROBLEM.

If I have to wear a mask in the theater or the Casino or for shopping (just like at home) no problem.'

If we have to be masked when getting seated, no problem.

I am retired but my wife is still working in the same profession and wears a mask for up to 12 hours a day as well as a face shield for some of those hours.

WOULD WE GO ON A CRUISE  with certain mask restrictions, at the drop of a hat.

We have two booked and have our fingers crossed .. LOL
