I agree. I'm more interested in the overall design of the ship and location of various venues than my accommodation.  Crazy I guess, but I don't spend that much time in my stateroom unless it's a balcony cabin, in which case, it's great to relax, read, enjoy a glass or 2 of wine and just watch the motion of the ocean.  The major part of my time will be spent out and about.

If there are studios I am positive there will be a studio lounge but it is not really cost effective to have a fully operating bar in there when there is only a maximum of 80 people with access.  I think NCL realized that when they stopped putting a bar in at all in the Away+ ships.  In my experience, the lounge is empty 95% of the time during the day, even on sea days.  There are many bars within a 2 to 3 minute walk from the studios that are a lot livelier than the studio lounge.

Agreed. The newer version has those wine dispensers but it’s a quick trip up to the OL bar or down to the 678 Place cornucopia of booze options.

However, the espresso machine is mandatory. Drinking endless Americanos and latte is how I make up for any cost differential between Studio and regular inside cabins.

"NORWEGIAN PRIMA" is likely to be the final answer. Hope my source is correct.

If true, I fully support (pun intended) a PrimaDonna store on the ship.

Hello Norwegian Prima

The object of my dream-a

My coffee kissed with cream-a

You chase away my blues

Hello Norwegian top brass

Excuse my need to be crass

If we kick you in the… er, hindquarters

Will we get some [bleeping] news?

I need to cut back on the coffee...

Well, the OL was one of my favourite spots on the Joy... but, as long as it's an open area to see the sea, I'm good with it.

Loved the OL on the Bliss and Encore.  On my 2nd Bliss cruise, the OL was one floor above my cabin and I would run up for breakfast and tea every day, then bring it back to enjoy on the balcony. Second favorite place is the Waterfront, even with a balcony (depending on which side the sun was on...sometimes the balcony was just too hot). Let's hope the Prima (?) has an OL.

Prima, Aura, Luna and Bella are names of AIDA ships.

So this won´t be a wise thing even when AIDA does not object.

The people will mix it up.

Hmmm... various cruise lines often use the same names.

Try to fill in the blank below for the correct ship name:

A___A STELLA

A___A BELLA

The answer can be "AIDA", "AMA" (river cruise) or "AROSA" (river cruise).

All these 3 companies have the ship names Stella and Bella.

NCL has "Sun", "Sky", "Star".

Princess also has Sun Princess, Sky Princess, Star Princess.

Viking has Viking Sun, Viking Sky, Viking Star as well.

That name is surely a departure from all the other ship names. I bet this is part of FDR's strategy of "upgrading" the public's perception of NCL and therefore can justify the higher prices across the board.

Personally, I am not a fan. It makes me think of an Italian cruise line like Costa or the AIDA ships. But, any news is good news I guess, at this point

I was thinking the same thing. Like Disney Dream, Carnival Dream. And, Disney Magic, Carnival Magic. I'm sure there are many others.

The new class is known as "Project Leonardo" or "Leonardo Class". Since "Leonardo" comes from an Italian word, is this the reason why they choose "Prima" as the ship's name, instead of an English word?

Anyway, let's finish the discussion on the ship's name. I will try my best to find out more details about the itineraries over the weekend.

I know, although I wouldn´t have a problem with river cruise ships and ocean vessels to have a "similar" name. But if I want to have a unique product I´d be a bit more creative with the name ;-).

thank you for the pic, love every pic i can see. Little boring these days.

dreaming of booking Leonardo:

13.08.22 Zeebrugge

18.08.22 zeebrugge

05.09.22 Warnemünde

10.09.22 Helsinki

10 days cruise from Copenhagen to Southampton?

13.09.22 Copenhagen

Oslo / Kristiansand

16.09.22 Oakney island ( Kirkwall )

21.09.22 Zeebrugge

22.09.22 Le Havre

23.09.22 Southampton

Leonardo is now in Oakney in 2022 too. And at a non official site it looks like Leonardo is going to the Baltics ( Warnemünde, Helsinki, Copenhagen is there ) .

2023 this site has a ship what should be Leonardo many times in Geiranger and October 2023 at the Baltics. So the cruises 2023 should be like the star do. UK and Iceland with Norway and to the Baltics and back. If this site is corrct.

NCL still has the rights for these names, will the first ship the Norwegian Prima??

NORWEGIAN ULTIMA

NORWEGIAN LUNA

NORWEGIAN VIVA

NORWEGIAN BELLA

NORWEGIAN VELA

NORWEGIAN AQUA

NORWEGIAN OMBRA

NORWEGIAN PRIMA

So your guess on "Norwegian Prima" is probably correct.

Also, you get almost full marks on the above port schedules. The only wrong one is Kirkwall.

13.09.2022: Copenhagen

14.09.2022: Oslo

15.09.2022: Kristiansand

16.09.2022: Bergen

17.09.2022: Geiranger

18.09.2022: Alesund

19.09.2022: at sea

20.09.2022: Amsterdam

21.09.2022: Zeebrugge

22.09.2022: Le Havre

23.09.2022: Southampton

and Oh, NCL brings the Leonardo/Prima special for FreestyleNovice to Amsterdam, that is nice. May they invite him for Lunch :-))

This itinerary looks wonderful.  Though I have been to the first 4 and last 2 via land, would love to revisit via a cruise, with possibly a B2B.  Can't wait for the 21st!

I've requested my PCC put a hold on a balcony/solo balcony, (if they exist) before I speak to him on Wednesday at 5:30pm UK/12:30 ET.

I NEED to get on this itinerary! I know it may change but it looks so inviting!

Thanks so much for posting the full details.

Many thanks also, @FreestyleNovice for starting the thread. I've been following along since the Bliss thread, and went back to enjoy the Escape one.

@Steff79, your info has always got me excited too.

You guys are awesome!

Andy 🙂
