Overseas Holiday from Brisbane & No Quarantine

Yesterday I was listening to the Administrator of Norfolk Island on the radio and he was saying that Queenslanders can land in Norfolk Is.

& are not required to go into Quarantine.

Returning back to Brisbane there is also no Quarantine period as there has been no virus on N.I.

Air NZ are still operating Norfolk Island flights for the Australian Government.

There is only 1 flight per week to & from Brisbane.  Out on a Saturday & back on a Friday.

If you have not been to Norfolk Is. there is a great amount of history there, virtually no crime - houses are left open & keys left in cars.

Speed limit on road is 40 kph & animals have right of way.

Nearly half the Islanders have ancestry back to the mutineers on the Bounty & the natives taken from Tahiti.

Sure is a great place, nice photo.  And the Norfolk wave as you drive along, aka 'The one finger salute.'

Possibly but we haven't been there, so might have been an option.

I think once NSW is allowed again, it is better from to fly from Sydney anyway, as there are many more flight options.

I can recommend Channers on Norfolk - wonderful hosts, great value and excellent accommodation and vehicle included in the packages.

Story told me by a person who hired a minimoke  in NI. There is a Company which hires these mokes - I think there are only 3 of them and they are brightly coloured. The Moke was delivered to the hotel he was staying at and when he asked where should he return it , they said "Oh - Just park it anywhere on the Island - we will find it"     TRUE!!!!!

Ye, very mch re.

BTW, ACT residents can now go to SA but we have to fly there (not drive).

What a joke that is, there is little Covid in Regional NSW, nothing much in Steak and Kiddly either.  How about you sail your boat around Mic?

It is a wonder they let you and Rosie in to NI Mic, you are too young.  I was 54 when we went, I think we were the youngest on the island except for the residents and workers. Bit like Holland America, if you know what I mean.🤣

Yep, we were certainly the young ones there.

We had a weekend there with many friends from both Australia and NZ for Bookcrossing Un-convention (read socialising, eating and drinking).

But first trip I want is Tassie,,,,

Cheers Don    with G&T tonight

Have you not been to Tassie before, don? Well worthwhile, been there 3 times on fly/drives and Antarctic Festival in Hobart a couple of years ago.  Great place, I might move there.  Good Whisky.  The bottle my son gave me for Fathers Day is evaporating for some reason.Apera_r-1024x1024.thumb.jpg.47f50f8d4636dc3cad4cc9625b3dcd91.jpg
