Caesars Total Rewards Discount

Good evening.

I've already gotten good advice here that saved us ~$500, so I'm hoping you can help us out once again.  We  just noticed that my wife's status in Caesars Total Rewards might be able to get us 10% off of the fare (we know the non commissionable part of the fare won't get it).  Can we get that even though we booked with our regular Travel Agent?

Thanks.

i may be wrong, but in order to get the total rewards price you need to book thru casinos at sea. i had done that for years, but now i have an ncl cruise consultant that applies the discount when i call her to book a cruise. also, unless they have changed the program, you get 20% off a cabin up to a suite or haven. booking a suite or a haven suite gives  you 10% off. when y ou go thru casinos at sea, they will ask for your wife's total rewards number

Platinum  is 10% off          Diamond is 20% off        7 star is 30% off of cruise fares.

Plus you get unlimited drinks in the casino when they are open. You do not have to be playing to get them.

Hi. I get platinum discount through regular cruise consultant. Not sure I can through outside TA. I figure near 15 pct not 20 taking admin fee out when pricing. I also notate original price for future reference on trips I have booked. I think CAS is different and needed for free cruises from accumulating casino credit. Btw I have never gambled on a cruise ship.

just to clarify, the original post indicated the wife was a member of cesar's entertainment total rewards program.

Cesar's is affiliated with NCL, and a few times per year, they offer a free cruise through this program (although it's an inside cabin, you can upgrade)

this program allows 10% off the rate for suites and above, and 20% off of any other cabins.  we've been members for about 10 years, and have taken around 18 cruises . it order to get the discount, you needed to call ncl's casinos at sea number.

you can now get the discount (if you are are part of their program) it has nothing to due with your latitudes status, althoughthe higher status you have, the more goodies you get.  by the way, we're platinum+

I think mine is somehow different. I'm true rewards diamond from a hotel program status merch. I have no tier points or whatever they're called. I did match for 20% off. I might be working with a cas agent but do not think so. My account does have cas linked and shows up as discount code in my reservations. When using an amex agent I their obc could be more fruitful but I like my ncl agent so I book through him.

Thanks everyone.  Since we already booked through our travel agent (non-NCL person) and we wouldn't want to cancel and rebook after the amount of work he did already I don't think we will be able to take advantage for this cruise.

For the future though, does anyone know if we can book through the casino, get the Caesars Total Rewards discount and then transfer the reservation to our regular Travel Agent?

Thanks again.

I don't think you get the drink card if you use the discount.  You get it when booking a Caesars comped cruise.  You can also get it based on your previous NCL play

thepla: have you ever been offered a free cruise thru the total rewards program. if so, you know how it works. if not, we go for a weekend in las vegas, the room is comped, you get a cruise certificate advising which ships and ports are available. the certifiate has a designated number and directions to phone "casinos at sea"

you tell them which cruise you want and they book a reservation. at that time, if you wish to upgrade the cabin, they will tell you the price difference.

after the 1st few cruises, i called that number to book an ncl cruise even though there was no cetificate. i gave them the rewards number.  i had never bothered to use an agent, because finding a cruise on the ncl website, then calling the number was relatively easy.

after a few years and multiple cruises, i received a call from a very nice lady advising she was an ncl cruise consultant. i have been using her exclusively sine then (about the last 5 years)  sometimes i call her multiple times just asking questions about cabin prices. she is always very helpful, and if i can, i refer anyone i know thats planning a cruise to give her a call. you dont need to gamble in the casino to be a part of casinos at sea program.

hope this helps you on your next cruise. by the way, we're booked on the spirit from athens next marck, and the jade out of amsterdam in july. i called my consultant with the information on the dates and cabin types i wanted to book, and she took care of the rest, applying our cesars status to the price.

by the way, we try and stay at the embarkation and disembarkation for a few days before and after our cruise. i use booking. com to check out the hotels. i havent used a travel agent in probably at least 20 years.  do my own airline bookings also. the internet makes the entire traveling process extremely easy.

sorry for the length of this post, i just wanted to make your next travel plans as easy as possible for you and anyone else reading this post

First sorry I stepped on this thread. I was trying to ask something that is probably out of box. I am not a Diamond Cesar for being in a casino, actually other than being in Vegas for chess or convention I am not there and never gamble other that a couple bucks here or there. I did status match from a hotel chain to Cesar's Diamond. One reason I did it was 20% NCL and I get a free $100 or something like that in food. I think their concept is great, like 3 or 4 times I go to Vegas I now stay in one of their hotels. I'm sure that is why I am not offered a free cruise (I think I can get a free stay  at some resort out east if I remember). I'm sure this is what no one has ever asked me for a "free" cruise.

My question I was wondering, if I am only trying to get 20% discount (maybe realistically 15%) can I have a TA call in and get benefit? I actually like my personal cruise consultant but just in case I decide to use another method.

I'm going to defer to your experience.  I've only read that on these boards.  All my cruises have been comped, so I can't speak on it from first hand experience.  Do you have the Jade NCL casino at sea card?  I ask because pearl and above get free drinks, so I just want to make sure you're not getting the card because of your NCL.

yes we have a jade card, but we also take the beverage package so the drinks come anyway. finally, if i'm not mistaken, the casino drinks are like vegas, if youre playing, the drinks are free.

Sorry, but it is not like Las Vegas for the drinks in the casino.

To get 'Free drinks while playing' in NCLs casinos, CAS will give you a players card with the drink card attached.  This players card is usually delivered to your room your first day on board.    You show this card to the server or bartender.  They also scan your room card. In addition to alcohol you can also get bottled water and energy drinks which aren't covered by your basic beverage package.  If you get a higher Tier players card with CAS you do qualify for more expensive drinks at the casino bar.

We no longer take the beverage package (paying the 20%) as we get plenty of drinks in the casino and tip for those as we go.   For others, paying the 20% gratuity for the promo to get drinks anywhere on the ship works best for them.

Did you ask your travel agent?  Have them book the casino deal for you?  Ask if they can switch your reservation for a casino deal (you would get the promotions at the time of rebooking).

Bird,

Earlier in the thread, I was told we could only get the Caesars Total Rewards Discount if we booked with the NCL's casino at sea. (See below)

If that isn't true, I will certainly ask my Travel Agent to try to add the Caesars Total Rewards Discount.

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

What sort of energy drinks, and do you give cash tip with every drink?

We recall seeing Red Bull/Sugar-free Red Bull.  Brands could change of course.

And yes, in the casino we carry a stack of dollars for tips.

You have to book the cruise thru CAS but you can then transfer the booking to your travel agent. We've done this before.

...and for all of you reading, we've never stepped foot inside a Caesars casino but have Diamond TR status thanks to a credit card. Won't spill the beans but it's an easy 20% off every cruise by having a certain credit card. Do some research, it's worth it 😉

Which credit card gives you Diamond CTR?

Did a dummy booking--looks like it could save us $1700. Price hasn't gone up so I could just cancel...

I'll call Monday!
